I really don't understand the hype with Jones. Just like Tua when you got 1st rounders at wr, rb and oline you're gonna look like a heisman finalist and 1st round pick. Yes he throws deep but nothing is impressive or stands out, just like with Tua nothing stands out and makes you say damn. The league is changing to dynamic qbs but I can see why Kyle will like this robotic qb. Jones to me would be the type everything around him has to be great and I don't want my qb to have to depend on everything being perfect because not every game is roses.

At 12 just give me Lance or trade up if you have to, Jones at 12 would be beyond frustrating. Dude isn't even Burrow who came out of nowhere last year

So are you going to avoid the fact that Burrow was also surrounded with talent last year? To name a few on offense, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Justin Jefferson, Jamarr Chase, Terrace Marshall, Damien Lewis, Lloyd Cushenberry etc...etc... I mean LSU tied the record for the most players(14) drafted in one year last year. That's star power if you ask me.

The argument about Jones surrounded by star players is silly. If you watch the guy, he clearly goes through his progressions all the time and makes the right choices no matter who's on the field. Everyone thought he was going to be s**t when D.Smith went down in the NCG but he went in and scored on the next 3 possessions. He's not mobile to today's standards, but I see him as a more mobile Peyton Manning. Not the strongest arm but his ball placement, reading defenses, and knowledge of the game is legit. He's super smart which is a good trait of success.

Patterson is probably as good as Bourne, but a much better returner than we have otherwise. I'd like the move if for no other reason we upgrade specials and save a roster spot.
There are going to be alot of cap casualities. Niners just need to be patient and they will get some bargains. I am talking pro bowl calibre bargains.Niners are in better shape than most contending teams when it comes to cap space.

He isn't "better" as a WR, but he is a bigger home run threat. I like the idea that we can put special packages in for him, but he isn't going to line up and move the chains like Borne does. It is a trade off. But one I think we come out ahead in assuming someone steps up and becomes the safety valve type guy.

Sucks we don't have any money and he's a little redundant with Deebo, but I'd love to see Curtis Samuel in this offense.

Demetric Felton (UCLA) ~ Curtis Samuel

Then, use the money that would/could be used on Samuel on a dependable player for a position that's lacked dependability (*ah-hem* OC, EDGE, et al.).

Yup. I want Felton bad.

That makes 2 of us in the Cool Club.

Can we put a "No Dweebz Allowed" sign on the front of the clubhouse?

Trends come and go. What happens when these guys who scramble lose their legs? I'd rather have a QB who is dependent on his arm.

I agree. When these free agents hit the market it maybe a rough couple days for most of them. Only a few will sign big contracts the first few days and then the rest will realize they will need to sign a 1 year deal.

I know Burrow was surrounded my talent, Burrow has a better arm and isn't a complete statue, Burrow is easily more talented. I just don't want a robot at qb and I'm not impressed with Jones no matter the numbers he put up

You get the right guy and he'll progress his plays from the pocket and only use his legs when 1st down are needed. It's not either or. We need to find a guy who has both. We aren't talking full blown Kaep or RG3. We talking Josh Allen, Russell Wilson, Mahomes, and Watson.

IDK, I'd call him better. He averages close to 10 more yards per kick return than James and has much more house call potential in him. He hasn't returned many, or really any, punts in the NFL though. Not to say he couldn't because he was pretty good at it in college.
