If you acquire Lawson then you no longer have to prioritize edge early in the draft. If they could pull off re-signing Williams along with adding Lawson and Mack then you could go early CB with someone like Farley and then double up on the position with a pick in the 3rd or 4th as well.

Problem is we still need a blue chip QB ready to take over when Jimmy inevitably gets injured.

If that is not going to be Watson/Fields/Wilson, last option is to take Lance/Jones at 12 if we can resign Williams and acquire Lawson.

It'd be nice to get but you shouldn't force the issue. If there's no QB's that they are in love with and the price for Watson is too high, keep building the roster and starting evaluating the upcoming QB class. If they can patch up the OL, add another edge rusher and solidify the secondary, they'll be in a much better position to go all in for a QB after next season.

You have conveniently forgotten we have Rosen signed for this season. He was a blue chip prospect at one point...does that help?

This doesn't include the expected wave of cap casualties. We could see talented players become newly added on this list soon.

I have a hard time paying Yannick $18M - 20M/yr when he's not an everydown player and can't play the run. He's a complementary player, not a team's best edge.

I say this considering he's similar to Dee Ford but more durable.
