If they just signed Alex Mack you can pretty much close up free agency!!

Trent Williams and Alex Mack on the same O-line would be one helluva wall to get around!!

I hope we get some serious secondary help. I'm fine with Verrett, Moore, Williams, Mosely and maybe Taylor. We still need a lot of help!

Wouldn't mind signing one of these guys to take Fords place.

SF doesn't have the cash to get any of those dudes IMO.

Dupree only a maybe because he's gonna be coming off a torn ACL...which we don't need to be going after anymore.

Olivier Vernon and Kerrigan are two FAs I would check out, they fit what we like at DE and won't be as much cash. Maybe grab a speed rusher in the draft on day 3 to develop.

Alex Mack is old as dirt. I think he's gonna be 36 come free agency. He's also been awful in PP according to PFF. Garland has a better PP grade then him...Mack should retire.

I would look at

Chase Roullier
Corey Linsley
Austin Reiter

You're gonna look at players who are gonna cost money the 49ers can't afford to spend?? Screw PFF grades when it comes to Mack without Shanahan, with Shanahan is what matters to me. And Mack should be very affordable. If Jeff Saturday could play, start and be effective till he was 37, Jesse Sapolu played till he was 36 too, why can't Mack??

I'd take Mack at 36 and 37 over Richburg and Garland any day.

Yet you bring up signing Corey Linsley, best Center in the game right now. lol
Haskins just became available. Do we bring him in? i see why not.

I agree.. we need to make not just one change in the qb room.. so no matter if Jimmy g comes back or not we have to make a change at backup also.. we can't go into next year with Mullens and bethard as backups.. we can get haskins on a pretty good deal and see what shanahan does with him.. he will be the backup going into next year no matter who is the starter.. if he comes in he needs to understand and accept that

+1

Just like in 2011 when we picked up "old" Goodwin to play center, he gave us some solid ass years. We need smarts at the position and no played C better than Mack in Shanahan's system. But i agree there are better options like Linsley, who is the top rated C in the league this year, but no way we can throw that cash around when top priority is resigning Williams.

No to Mack and HELL NO to Haskins. Mack is old as dirt and someone pointed out above that he is no longer good. Haskins is a complete bust and cares more about strippers than football.

Draft a young guy at C and acquire Stafford at QB.
Some of you guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment. The 49ers don't even have enough money to resign all of their own guys.

Although I somewhat agree, this fallacy that's floating around here about the 49ers not having enough money to resign players is bogus. Jimmy G aint making 20+ Million next year. He's either taking a pay cut or gone. Sherman realistically wasn't going to be back anyway. His play has declined and his achilles tendons are dust. He's gone. Richburg will either take a pay cut or be gone. Ford as well. Williams and Warner will get extensions that will be cap friendly in 2021.

There is more than enough money to go around. We will resign our guys and add a few mid level free agents. You won't see any huge deals in FA however.

we need to fill 20 positions.

we have 30mill in cap space if we cut Ford and Rich

Gould is at 5 mil if we keep his option (decision to made this week i heard)
Trent W.. gonna be around 15 mill

so that leaves about 10mill to sign 18 starters/Depth positions

1. Your numbers aren't proper. Also, you have no clue what the cap will be next year.
2. I'd advise you to look at AB's posts where he walks through the cap and how it works. We can extend players like Warner/Williams AND make cap room for 2021 while doing it. There will be more than enough money to re-sign our priority players.
