Mid season trade targets this year

NY need a QB before they need a stud WR that they will have to pay

Very true but they might be in denial thinking he doesn't have great weapons and this will help him become a better quarterback.
I think if any trade happens it's going to include Pettis and Mullens/Beathard and will probably just be for draft picks.

But the team will be adding Jordan Reed, Tevin Coleman, K'Waun Williams, Raheem Mostert, Kwon Alexander, Deebo Samuel, Richard Sherman, Dee Ford, Ronald Blair, and Weston Richburg in the coming weeks.

I'll take that over trading high picks for AJ Green, Quinnen Williams, Stephon Gilmore, or anyone else like that.

I would not be mad if we did make a move to get a player that's a clear and obvious upgrade though.

We don't need a corner back Gilmore would be a waste. Verrett is one of the top corners in the league right now. And if Sherman comes back great if he doesn't Mosley can hold his own. and verette can lock up man to man unlike any corner we have

Yeah I don't think he has ever been a target for us. Just used him as an example because he's supposedly on the trade block.
I am going to throw my 2 cents in. Micheal thomas is keyshaun johnson, and this team does not need him.

He is the best possession WR, That plays heavily in that 5-15 yard area. That would be perfect for this offense, but i think kittle, aiyuk, and deebo are better all around players.

I would rather have kendrick bourne at 5M than thomas at 20M. They are identical player types, just thomas is bigger, faster, and better hands. But they play identical roles, and bourne is not bad at it.

This team needs somebody who threatens the 20+ yard route consistently. A player the defense can only cover one way, bail or safety help(wasting a player for deep coverage). This whole group feasts in the 0-20yd area, but except (possibly) Aiyuk none consistently eat at the 25-35yd area.

In short if they are going to give up picks, it should be for julio jones not thomas.
Fwiw

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported that defensive ends Ryan Kerrigan and Ryan Anderson are among a number of veteran defensive players available for trade. The problem, however, is coming to terms around a deal.

"Asking prices are still too high on veteran players, and whether they come down will likely dictate how much activity is coming," Breer reported

Lol Keyshawn Johnson. That's funny as hell.

Keyshawns best year in stats was Michael Thomas worst statistically in his Rookie year

Lol

Hook me up with your connects number for the bombest sweetest Cheeba

Different eras of football. Keyshawn played when WRs still had to fight through sustained contact. And could actually be hit by playing in the pocket between the 4 biggest hitters on a defense.

Alright man I'm not going to debate this s**t again. Think what you want to think.
God damn, F you(not YOU but you like everything)i had a post that just got wiped out somehow.

i compared 2019 thomas to 2009 wes welker and 2001 keyshawn johnson. Showing how identicsl they were percentage wise. The only difference was johnson had a much lower catch rate, but it is much harder to catch a poorly thrown ball when you can get hit while outstretched for(no defensless receiver nonsense)

Then to 2000 terrel owens. Once again catch rate is the difference in thomas' favor. But everything else, owens wrecked him.

I could not get the avg depth per target, but i figure all 4 are close enough.

Then i was going to do marvin harrison, megatron, and julio when i lost the damn post.

He is a good WR, with great hands, and superb route running. But he heavily benefits from the style of offense and obscenely accurate passes. I believe if you remove him from it his catch rate drops along with his targets. He will become a 80rec 900yd WRwith a 70% catch rate.
Comparing Thomas to Wes Welker & Keyshawn is disrespectful. Come on now
