Just get him in the building...figure out who he is between the ears. Hopefully he can play a couple games but this is a early scout play for 2021 imo.
I'm praying he works out, if he does then this is definitely the end to Dee Ford's career as a 49er.

I doubt this signing affects anything with Ford. Ford is a top edge rusher when he is on the field. I know some fans a bitter about him not playing, but you can never have too much depth.
Bosa, Ford, McKinley, Hyder, Jordan, Blair, Willis...two elite Edge guys and capable depth looks good to me.

From what I've gathered about this coming draft is that it is a very weak edge rusher draft. So this move may remove DE from our board letting us go after QB, CB and iOL. In that order

Right now Kerry Hyder is affecting Dee Ford's status, I have no doubt about that. 49ers adding both Jordan Willis and Takk McKinley says even more to me about the 9ers moving on from Ford. Lets also not forget that 2021 is a potential out for Dee Fords contract.

Yeah I don't view this as trying to save this year, unlike Cincy who wanted him for right now, which why? Your season is DOA too. I view it as getting a good look at a guy for litterally nothing that could be a contributor next year.

Ford is in my mind effectively retired, the only reason he isn't hanging 'em up during the season is because it f**ks us on the cap hit.

Yeah I mean Ford he ain't....but Ford at home ain't Ford either. A rotation of 2 or 3 cheaper guys opposite a healthy Bosa should still get a lot of production though.

Who is the other elite rusher? ford? please....... do not depend on him for anything this year and i hope we can find a way to unload him. for bosa.... we all hope he will be what he was, the other guys are just depth stuff. no, you need to get a elite rusher with the top pick.. or if you want to get the o line guy with number one. then get your rusher at 2
