OK with it? Hell, they invite it no matter the GM and FO. LOL
maybe we should have contracted out with another team to have their medical staff look at the guy?

"Crazy" is an acceptable character flaw if you play defense and don't get in trouble with the law

I doubt this signing affects anything with Ford. Ford is a top edge rusher when he is on the field. I know some fans a bitter about him not playing, but you can never have too much depth.

Bosa, Ford, McKinley, Hyder, Jordan, Blair, Willis...two elite Edge guys and capable depth looks good to me.

Who is the other elite rusher? ford? please....... do not depend on him for anything this year and i hope we can find a way to unload him. for bosa.... we all hope he will be what he was, the other guys are just depth stuff. no, you need to get a elite rusher with the top pick.. or if you want to get the o line guy with number one. then get your rusher at 2

I don't blame you for forgetting what is was like to have Bosa and Ford on the field at the same time. It seems like ages ago. lol

It's Ford's contract that has people wanting to get rid of him. He can be restructured. Depending on his health of course. No one wants to throw Bosa away after a lost season. You don't just kick those guys out.

If Ford isn't going to recover, then a signing like McKinley could help towards replacing Ford. But he wasn't signed to replace Ford outright, like it was suggested in here.

btw Bosa already had an acl in his senior year of high school. He turned out ok. I'm sure he will be fine with enough time to recover.

I guess my point is we shouldn't get rid of elite talent just because of injury. If its money, then sure. But giving guys like Verret and Sherm and Trent Williams a chance proves that guys can recover and be elite again.

Most fan bases are bitter if a prospect doesn't turn into a super star and leaves prematurely.

Living in NY the amount of OBJ homers i listened to for the first couple seasons was insane. Dude was the savior and could do no wrong...the moment he leaves he's a piece of garbage

I wouldn't expect ATL fans to having anything good to say about a player that wanted out of there lol. Hell those fans called out Shanahan and not Dan Quinn. I'm not putting much stock into stuff like that.

Ford will be on the team next year because of his cap hit but the following year in 2022 if this continues he will be dropped in my opinion. There is no reason to believe that a guy that has been hurt and is as hurt as he presumably is will all of a sudden miraculously heal and be healthy enough to play. I think that if the team is having a good year next year then he might want to play the second half of the season and towards the playoffs. As of now he is not someone that should be counted on and if someone else comes in and plays well and stays healthy then that's the way to go.
We can use a guy like Vic Beasley. What do you guys think. Our season is done might as well audition possibly candidates for next year.

Man if only we would bring in OL guys like this. 49ers are in pursuit if you have a pulse and DT/DE/EDGE on your resume - you're HIRED!

What O-Linemen do you have in mind?

From what I've gathered about this coming draft is that it is a very weak edge rusher draft. So this move may remove DE from our board letting us go after QB, CB and iOL. In that order
That Baker kid wanting to come here instead of Kansas City would have been good too. That would have knocked out CB and DE early in the draft.
Hopefully he brings his giant pic of his grandma with him.

Not seeing too many former 1st rd OL picks our there on waivers haha

I really do like these kinds of moves: Jordan Reed, Jason Verrett, Jonathan Cyprrien, Kevin White & Takk Mckinley

The injury reclamation project definitely has better success when its an NFL vet rather than a draft pick.,

I really like this signing and I believe this guy will turn it back on now that he is where he wants to be. Say what you want but clearly McKinley became disgruntled in Atlanta and basically forced his way off that team. Many NFL players want to do this kind of stuff to get there way, but not many have the guts to go through with it because it is a risk you take on your career.

If healthy I expect huge things for Takk, so much so that we won't really need to spend a valuable draft pick on a DE in the upcoming draft. It's no guarantee that can get rid of Dee Ford because we have to have a trade partner and that will be hard to find. We don't have to waste time with signing Blair, so bye. Armstead will be able to play inside 100% of the time where hopefully he can get the old motor going again. Hyder Jr is all gas and no brakes, we know Bosa is a 10-12 sack guy, and I have been impressed with Willis as a rotational guy he is perfect. The defense has the potential to be fierce again next season and all on cheap deals except Armstead.

Blair has been a good rotational guy every year of his career. He gets injured and has a setback and you suddenly want to dump him? I say keep Blair. God forbid, we actually can have several solid edge rushers next year. I am liking the potential of the lineup. Bosa, Hyder, Willis, Blair, and McKinley look like a solid group. The latter four our hard workers that should benefit from a lot of one on one looks. Because of the numbers, I don't expect Dee Ford to be outright cut. Do we have an easy out in 2022? Either way, that looks like a solid group and we still should add a guy on day 3. The great thing about this pickup is is McKinley works out and we can sign him again, we are totally relieved from having to use a pick on day 1 or 2 on Dline. As for Armstead, he might look closer to 2019 form with some other people around him.
Oh we got him, nice. He certainly can't make the team any worse LOL.
