- NFL Pick 'em
This guy is a quality starter at a position of need. A first round talent that has pretty good numbers given he hasn't started every game. Another 1st round talent on our DL that will make it easier to move on from Ford or if not get a good comp pick in return if we can't resign him

I really do like these kinds of moves: Jordan Reed, Jason Verrett, Jonathan Cyprrien, Kevin White & Takk Mckinley

If he was a quality starter he wouldn't be getting cut in the middle of the season. He's a bust who's never put it together and this is his last best shot to make an NFL career for himself.

Meh. Free special teams player or project guy if he doesn't pan out. Not a bad move for the price

It's a very smart, no-risk waiver claim by the #49ers. They'll owe Takk McKinley 875K (non-GRTD). Spending 875k for a comp pick if Takk leaves via FA is also a solid move by the FO.

If healthy, Takk will excel under Coach Kocurek & provide some much needed talent at edge. pic.twitter.com/qN1OnEs8oM
Odd highlight from the tweeter, he wasn't blocked.
Here ya go
For the❤of God, PLZ kick the tires&put in a claim for @Takk McKinley @JohnLynch49ers/@49ers!

Like @VicBeasley3 who's already cleared waivers, thanks to Dan Quinn, McKinley already is familiar W/&has scheme EXP.
Essentially plug&play(in nickle no doubt)🤷♂️.pic.twitter.com/b2R9z4O7xP https://t.co/Cn2nzyQCLl
Now that's a highlight sack.

McKinley recorded 13 sacks in his first two NFL seasons but just 4.5 sacks since. He has registered 79 tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, 17.5 sacks, 45 quarterback hits, two passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery during his four NFL seasons.
That's hardly a bust considering he was a late first round draft pick and 17.5 sacks is pretty good imo

The comp pick alone if we don't keep him makes it worth it.
Any other dudes we can claim for 800k and let walk for more comp picks? We need to restock in draft and need picks.

Based on who we got heading to FA and the lack of cash to resign or upgrade currently they will be getting plenty of comp picks in 2022.
They should be getting a 5th rd comp for Sanders in the 2021 draft.

Yeah I wouldn't call him a bust either.

Low risk deal that may turn out to be great. Atlanta isn't exactly developing defensive players so he may better than advertised. I guarantee he will pass the 49er physical, because everyone does.
