Go get a #1 WR and let the rest of the league be in fear of the Niners weapons.

Or let Aiyuk develop into the #1 WR.

Because I think a vet receiver would be perfect for this squad. If Aiyuk is a future #1, getting a guy like Julio will allow him time to become that.

Personally, I think Aiyuk is more of a #2...which is why I want Julio.
Given his age, injuries, and contract.....eh.

He's still a baller when he's on the field though and he'd bring an element to the offense that we don't have. Might even be the piece that would put us over the top if he were able to play most of the season.

I would give up a 3rd, maybe 2nd.....but Atlanta would have to either eat a lot of the money or Julio would have to agree to a new deal before making the trade. I don't think either he or Atlanta have a lot of leverage here. Atlanta can't afford to keep him at this pay and he won't be able to get another big payday on the market either, especially this year. I think he'd probably end up with a deal a little north of AJ Green.

32 year old WR with lots of mileage. SF needs their day 2 picks since they are missing 1st rounders the next two drafts. I'd love Julio but I don't think the time is right unless ATL takes some day 3 picks which won't be enough.

Totally disagree. You need reps and targets to get better...throw someone like Julio or OBJ and they're eating up 100+ targets. If they don't then they're not worth that cap hit and compensation. I'm passing on OBJ who's coming off an ACL.

Why is he a #2? He was the 25th pick in the draft and a guy they moved up for....I'll bet money SF doesn't think he's a #2.

PFF just put Deebo in their top 32 WRs in the league. Means he's a #1 WR.

An overrated term IMO. Just get multiple guys who can make plays.

We need an Anquan Boldin type mentor who can still play for Aiyuk and Deebo but Jones makes too much money. We still have to sign Fred and some other guys very soon

Deebo is Q. Let just call him Q-eebo and be done with it. As for all this Jones talk.....

agreed...the issue is you have a team that uses 21 personnel more than any team in the league and just paid a FB a ton of cash.

You get Julio then you either bench that FB and your built up scheme in favor of a s**t ton more 11 personnel OR Deebo/Ayiuk are losing snaps.
As a selfish fantasy football fan, that just loves sexy picks/moves I'd be so down with Julio...the smart football side says that it doesn't make a ton of sense.
I don't get how Deebo makes the top 32 WRs, but not Aiyuk, and I love Deebo Samuel. Aiyuk is IMO a future #1 WR for what this offense will become. Like many have said we run 21 personnel a lot, 2 WRs, we can't have a guy, 32yrs old, getting 100+ targets, when Deebo, Aiyuk, hopefully Hurd, and others get chances, we need to develop our own guys, plus we need to pay our own before adding a high priced WR, Fred Warner should and is priority #1 IMO, the money needs to go to him, and again, we can't afford him in 2022 or 2021, as Jimmy isn't getting traded, we don't have $17.86M in cap room, we'll be closer to $12M if we're lucky when Lance, Sermon & Thomas sign, and redoing more deals is just a bad idea, people complained when we redid Kwon, Richburg & Dee, when we literally HAD to, now we don't, but that's the inly way to get Julio, so now it's ok to redo a bunch of guys? I just don't get fans and their clamoring for these high priced big name players.

That's hilarious, not like these betting places actually know how the salary cap works, the only reason the 49ers are linked is because of Shanahan. Most of those teams don't even have the needed cap room to get Julio, I just don't get these morons who put these betting lines up.

This. Big contract, lots of mileage, more draft capital to sacrifice. However, Julio has been so fun to watch, it'd be kinda awesome seeing him on this offense.
Nobody thinks Aiyuk is bad, just looking to upgrade the position

Love the idea. He brings something we're missing. That veteran saavy leader much like we got with Emanuel Sanders. Salary actually works in our advantage as it will reduce the cost of trading him much like how Detroit was able to leverage Goff's salary situation. We can always restructure and push the money down like the Saints, whom never really seem to get punished for their salary cap woes.

Jones becomes our size/speed matchup outside, and still needs to be double teamed. Worst case, he's the best #3 wideout in the game behind Aijuk and Deebo, and we get to keep him fresh.

Statistically, one of our wideouts will go down at some point this year, and we need the depth. I love the Lee signing, but would rather him coming in off the bench.

Only thing I am really concerned with is resigning Warner. If we can do that, make this trade, and create a little cap room through restructuring, I'd be a happy camper. Also want to bring Sherman back for another run!
