Trade idea (Julio Jones)

Not just that. Seems like all the rumors again were just talk ....

• The Ravens discussed a Jones trade with the Falcons prior to the draft, but pulled out of the running after taking Rashod Bateman in the first round, and never got back in. The Patriots never showed real interest to Atlanta in Jones, and the Raiders (perhaps for cash reasons) weren't in it either. The Falcons did wind up talking to all four NFC West teams about a Jones trade, but never got a real offer from any of them.

yeah im sure the Niners wanted nothing to do with his contract.
Sanu also went for a 2nd round pick several years ago
I would've loved to have gotten Julio, even at that price. I know he's old, high injury potential, and there may be looming contract issues. But he single-handedly demolished the 2019 SB squad. He'd easily be the best WR on the team since TO

We were without Sherman, Ford and Tartt that game. But yeah, he had a pretty good game. Not much you can do when he's in the zone like that

After all that we never even made an offer.

Well we talked to them. The first question we had was probably "are you going to take on some of his salary?" and when the answer was "no" we said welp...

I believe we were out six or seven starters on defense so that game would've easily been won by the Niners. Not much sense bringing up that point about Julio doing well against our injured defense without context
That was also after the hugely emotional Saints win. Classic let down game.

Let's close this puppy up.
Amazing how his heavy contract decreased his trade value.

No we had more space than the Titans and we could've made it work without having a quarterback get 40 million for the next two years or another player restructure that costs us bigtime like Tannenhill. Not at all the same

Most importantly, you're forgetting we have the best cap guy in the business.

Luckily our cap guy didn't have to deal with it.
