Would rather they draft a rookie then rely on another Josh Johnson caliber of QB, not sure McCarron is even that.
I feel the same way, but if I had to choose a veteran it would be between Cooper Rush, Mike White and Jarrett Stidham.

Bates was a good solider and played last year on the franchise tag, he'll likely be one of the NFL's biggest free agents this offseason with a number of teams pursuing safety help. The Bengals drafted Dax Hill last offseason to take Bates' spot and though Bates has said he'd love to return to Cincinnati, the actions are speaking louder than the words on Cincinnati's desire (or lack thereof) to give him a long-term deal.
I think Bates may be our big FA acquisition this year. Ward is gone imo

I don't see Lynch giving any Safety a multi million dollar deal. They've never done it before and I just don't see them doing it now. Trust me I would love to be proven wrong because that would be something, to have Bates and Ward in the secondary!!!! I think they re-sign Tashaun Gipson, he's earned it. IMO. If anything I think they throw a little money at Moseley to get him back but that's about it.

I agree they will try to sign Mosley and Gipson. Ward is gone in my opinion. It will cost too much but then again Bates will be expensive as well. After watching all these elite quarterbacks playing well this year, I think free safety would be wise to invest in especially since we will be playing Patrick Mahomes Josh Allen or Joe Burrow in the Super Bowl. It's a must need position and upgrade but like you said, we might not invest in it heavily.

Most likely we'll play the more conservative, tactical approach to FA that we usually do I recent years, but we're going to make any sort of splash in FA this season, I think it'll be at edge. I could see us possibly looking into trades there too.

The FO needs to go all in this off season. I love the young core of talent, and I have been happy with building for the long term, but its time.
They have some critical corner stone players that are possibly getting close
- Trent Williams
- George Kittle
- Christian McCaffery
- Kyle Juszczyk
- Robbie Gould
I say go all in on this current team, add critical pieces in FA, and GET SIX!!!

Not too many players to go all-in on. But if it was my choice it would probably look like this:
Javon Hargrave or A'Shawn Robinson
George Fant
Rodney Hudson
Arden Key

I hope the 9ers have a deal in place for one of the top DT's:
Javon Hargrave
Fletcher Cox
A'Shawn Robinson

Sadly I don't think the niners break the bank on a DT, I could see a vet like Tomlinson, Iodannis, Gaines while drafting a DT in the 3rd. I hope I'm wrong bc we need a true run stuffer.

I would spend money on center and right tackle.
I know a lot of fans have talked about FS, I'm hoping they bring Gipson back for one year and see what they have in Hawkins.

Getting a healthy Moseley back could only strengthen both the #2 CB and slot CB. I'm gonna guess Lenoir moves to the slot. But I also hope they invest in the FS position even if they bring back Gipson, maybe sign another second tier FS like Jabrill Peppers who can play both spots or Taylor Rapp. After all the 49ers are losing Tarvarius Moore too.

Just like they always say build from trenches and then out, I think especially with the cap ballooning next season we can backload a couple contracts with say Connor McGovern and Javon Hargrave and then sprinkle in signing some of our own guys back like Gould, Moseley, Gipson, McKivitz,Jennings, and maybe a couple others should be doable if we restructure enough cap to get to around $50 mil it should work even with Bosas new deal and rookie contracts.
Just having Hargrave and McGovern on both sides of the ball makes both lines that much better and you never know we could get another diamond in the rough in the draft as well.

I concur….why didn't I concur. Except for Rapp, he plays like a backup imo and we've all seen him many times be a major reason why we beat the rams
