No way Mariota is better than Trey Lance. If Trey Lance sucks like some of you say he does i'd still much rather lose with trey then lose with marcus.

You have to be honest with these guys. No way the 49ers tell him he has a chance to beat TL if TL is healthy. Lance has to get on the field if he is healthy. And remember the 49ers thought enough of TL to hand him the job last year. I dont think any of that has changed.

I do see a way Mariota plays. TL is a big question mark. Could be elite, could be really struggling out there not getting it. Haven't seen enough to know either way. This team is built to win now, so while I understand we want to see what we got in TL, it doesn't mean we have to trot him out there if he's not getting it or ready to play at a high level. That would sacrifice a season potentially to find out something Coach Shanny probably already would know, based on how TL is practicing.
