Potential sellers for 2023 season

Good thread. i was going to post something similar in the Free agency thread.
Identifying sellers is great. I'd like to list some specific players too.

To start with, we need to list some positions we might want to add someone to.
I think OT/G, CB, DE, TE.

Some might come from FA's
We started with Anthony Brown CB.
I think we'll be in on La'el Collins when healthier. People were saying scheme but Cincy is similar.

trades:
i don't know how we'd swing some of these but they may at least consider them
Brian Burns DE
Chase Young DE
Kyle Pitts TE
Patrick Surtain CB, name came up today that he might want out.
Tristain Wirfs OT if he somehow came available

Keep adding others.

Getting Wirfs would not be fair. Wirfs and Trent LMAO.

I think more realistically, we'd go after someone like Yannick Ngakoue, Danielle Hunter, or Carl Lawson.

I'd love to have Arden Key back. Not sure that would happen though.

We shoulda never let him go, but I don't think Arden will be available. A pass rusher is the easiest way to immediately insert help and take the team over the top.

Hunter is currently on a 1 year deal. There will be no need to extend him after we win the superbowl; we should look to draft his replacement.

Chase Young would be a potential target if they don't plan on keeping him long-term. I really want Surtain though he is a top 5 CB and on this defense it would be ridiculous I would give up a first and third for him and not look back

I wouldn't be opposed to go after a few big names on last year of deal and letting them walk at end of year, let's go all in.

Surtain would probably cost two 1sts+ I mean the Jets got that for Jamal Adams

I agree. But not sure if he's in his last year but I would target Patrick Surtain. CB is pretty much the only position I can think of where you can put a big name, plug and play. Brian Burns would be another name I try to get but I doubt the 9ers add another DE with Ferrell and Jackson holding down the other spot.

Its hard to see the 9ers making any type of splash trade, 49ers roster is just really stacked right now.

I think Sultan has 2 years left (including 5th year option). But no way the Broncos deal him. Top tier player with 2+ years on a rookie deal. That's as good as it gets in terms of value. I'd ask for two firsts, a 2nd, and a 4th.

Yup sounds right, only way he gets traded is if he asks and even then Broncos might hold onto him. The contract he'd want we'd likely have to let a star player walk in FA unless Trent Williams retires which doesn't sound great either. To acquire Surtain we'd be looking at close to 3 1sts in value and either trade or let a starter walk in FA.

I'm in the mindset of don't fix whats not broken but imagine what kind of blitz packages Steve Wilks could use with a lock down corner and our DL

Yannick Ngakoue was sitting there as a FA for months. If we had any interest at all in him, I think we would have made a move them - instead of waiting to have to trade for him. I would totally be in for a Patrick Surtain trade!! That is who I was really wanting in that draft class to begin with! I can see him going for 2 1sts, and I'd be fine with that - especially considering where we should be drafting at, and how late those picks will be. And double especially, when you look at how badly we've whiffed on some 1st round picks. The question is, would the Broncos even consider trading him? He is a top young player and someone they can rebuild around. But, with their salary cap issues they may see it being hard to retain him long term any way. And with Surtain Sr. posting out that his kid deserves better, might be rumblings that he will ask for a trade soon.

i liked the idea of Danielle Hunter before so add him. Then he got the big raise to 20mil for this year. Not sure how much we'd have to take on in a trade.
Add Davante Adams. He's disgruntled and might want traded now.
We should play it safe and pay for everyone next year. I see them going for it and making a trade just push us over the hump even if we only get the benefits in the short term.

also don't see the need for an EDGE I agree to can't hurt but I just don't think its necessary. The best chance to improve the team significantly is at CB
