Any idea on targeting these CBs? Was looking up the league's top corners I've heard of Horn but not the other two
9. JAYCEE HORN, CAROLINA PANTHERSHorn's NFL career is still less than 1,000 snaps old, but in two years he has allowed just one touchdown and 318 yards in total. He is currently giving up just a 48.4 passer rating when targeted in the NFL. Year three is when we should get a better idea of how good Horn can be at this level, but there have been flashes of brilliance.
10. JAMEL DEAN, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERSOne of the league's most underrated cornerbacks, Dean finally cashed in this offseason with a big payday from the Bucs. He has four straight seasons with a PFF coverage grade between 74.7 and 78.9, and though he doesn't make a lot of plays on the football, he makes quarterbacks and receivers work for every yard.
12. A.J. TERRELL, ATLANTA FALCONSTerrell is a great case study in the volatility of coverage and cornerback performance. His rookie season was solid before a breakout sophomore campaign saw him play like an All-Pro with an 85.6 PFF coverage grade. In 2022, his play dropped back down to earth and he allowed nine touchdowns. Terrell definitely possesses the ability to be an elite cornerback but needs to prove he can find that play again in 2023.

Add Davante Adams. He's disgruntled and might want traded now.
We should play it safe and pay for everyone next year. I see them going for it and making a trade just push us over the hump even if we only get the benefits in the short term.
I'd rather they get a CB than take receptions away from Deebo or Aiyuk.
ya we dont need any OW
also don't see the need for an EDGE I agree to can't hurt but I just don't think its necessary. The best chance to improve the team significantly is at CB
I feel like if we had one more quality edge like Hunter, it wouldn't matter who's at CB because someone would always be in the backfield sacking the QB.
Having said that, I would love to add another starting corner.

that's never the case. We just saw the Eagles with an all time historic pass rush get nowhere near Mahomes in the SB. Just last year in the playoffs our pass rush was was kinda quiet and it was the coverage guys on the back end who stepped up and made plays without a dominating pass rush. You need guys to cover regardless of the pass rush. They could use both though.

That's true, especially in the playoffs where the refs hold their flags. I was thinking more along the lines of getting the #1 seed. I agree that come playoff time, CB play is more important.

Brian Burns is the perfect fit for this defense
one of the quickest off the snap means he's perfect for the wide 9, and he knows and loves Wilks
I don't know what the trade comp would be, or if it would be worth it for a half-season rental, or if we could somehow keep him beyond this season (while avoiding the f-tag)... but he's a perfect fit and we would have one of the all-time greatest defenses
Danielle Hunter is probably a much more realisitic trade option, and would also be a great fit, but is older and has some injury history
but DE > CB if we make a splash trade

No chance on Burns and I doubt the Panthers trade him.
Hunter makes more sense. Gotta hope the Vikings keep losing.

How much of that 17mil would they have to eat if they traded for him at the deadline?

Add Garett Bolles OT to the possibilities of someone that might want traded. This would only be if they start trading everyone and give up.
I would like to see some OL help to keep Purdy healthy.
I agree I'd like a solid CB to prevent people from just getting of the ball quick or holding the rushers.
I doubt the teams bits a priority on it. I think they brought on Brown and Luther is coming later.
We love to bring in RB and DK.
I see DE is where we make a move.
I would love Burns but wed have to go e up a lot and his contract is going to be high.
Hunter is possible.
I could see Chase Young being the guy being friends with Bosa and cheaper to trade for and resign.
I'm warming again up to the idea of Hunter even though his salary. He's playing real well and likely available.
I want to keep our first this year after any trades to get an OT. That eliminates the top guys.

Yah I don't think Denver gets rid of their pass protection, that doesn't help Russell Wilson at all and he needs all the help he can get.
I also like the idea of getting Danielle Hunter like some mentioned. He's still pretty young and would definitely cost a 1st round pick. IMO.

I like the thought of adding Devin White as a Blitzing Sam Linebacker. Teams are getting tape on our 5 man DL and I'd love to counter that with a stronger LB core and frankly love Whites ability to generate pressure.

Adding another LB would be a complete waste and makes no sense really

I agree, plus the 49ers have Dee Winters, he could play that role. And don't sleep on Jalen Graham either. I'd say right now LB is the position that doesn't need shaking up. Honestly the 49ers are good everywhere and not sure how you can add a player without messing up the chemistry that they have right now. Well pending injuries of course but lets not think about that.
Better to just roll over the cap space.

There's no chance panthers would trade burns for less than 2 firsts considering they rejected 2 firsts from the rams last year

And there's no way the 9ers give up 1st round pick/s for Burns to be a one year rental cause they're gonna have to pay Burns next season and you can't have two $100 mil DE's. So not happening is right.
