BA for Tyler Fautanu straight up.

realistically

I would consider some type of deal of Ayiuk to the Jets for Haason Reddick and a day 2 pick

Reddick is holding out, he could actually help us this year (and would cost a lot less, give him a new 3 year deal)... Jets are in win-now mode and Aiyuk would be a true #1 WR for them, they have Wilson and added Mike Williams, but he's always hurt

but that's it... only trading him for an elite pass rusher, or elite T, or another elite pass catcher
future 1st Round picks don't help us this year - the final year of Purdy's cheap deal

I would hard pass on that. I don't see the point of trading away a difficult hold out player, to get an equally difficult hold out who is older and arguably less talented - in return. I really don't see us tradin Aiyuk this season. But if we were, it seems like the Steelers have the most interest. TJ Watt would surely be off the table, but I'd push for Minkah Fitzpatrick and a high pick, or one of their tackles. Maybe fleese them for Darnell Washington too.

yeah, I'm proposing this trade as "the only way I could see a trade happening" and under the assumption that we would work out a deal with Reddick beforehand - unlike the Jets, who were idiots for not doing that

I don't see the Steelers giving up TJ Watt, he's basically their franchise player at this point -- but yeah, that's what I was trying to say with my post, it would take an elite player, like Watt, who could help us win a Lombardi this season

From what I've read, they had an agreement when the trade happened that Reddick would play out this season on his current contract. Then he went back on that after the trade, and is holding out.

So now we come to the point where aiyuk gets to approve where he goes. This trade or signing should've happened a long time ago. They're gonna get "pennies on the dollar " and have no say so.

The trade didn't happen a long time ago because there was no coming together of the 3 parties involved. You are missing the point about the team having no say, Aiyuk is under contract for another year and the team have total control. If he won't play or can't come up with a mutually acceptable trade, he loses. If all they can get is pennies on the dollar, they walk away from the negotiation and insist that he plays his contract out. That is not "having no say so". Bottom line, the team holds all the cards.
