I hope Shanahan signs this guy because he desperately wanted him in the trade years ago. Mack is only one season removed from 17 sacks. He would be a great starter and probably come at a price less than 12 million. Well worth it.
Is it cap realistic they could add a center and tackle via FA? That would be ideal.

I don't think there is a T worth paying .

Agree. Cam Robinson, ranked #54 by PFF, has an estimated market value of $14 million/yr, per Spotrac.

By comparison, McKivitz was ranked #34 by PFF. I'd rather keep McKivitz.

Ronnie Stanley is UFA. 31 years old, injury history. Ranked #37. Spotrac estimates $20 million/yr.

Tackles are expensive.
If Saleh is returning then Osa Odighizuwa would indeed be a realistic and very good fitting option. Versatile 3T with an intense motor that can be moved around all over the DL and would thrive with a creative playcaller.

Isn't he going to command a boatload?

McKivitz isn't as bad as 9er fans think... our OL in general isn't as bad as they think. We ranked top 15 in pass pro and run according to PFF. There are a lot of bad OLines across the league. Also McKivitz improved a lot from '23 season (Puni might've helped). And as you point out, McKivitz's contract is actually a bargain.

I think our fanbase needs to accept the fact that McKivitz will be our RT again next season -- unless a rookie comes in and beats him out.
my free agent plan would be:

Extend:

QB Brock Purdy
TE George Kittle
(maybe WR Jauan Jennings if we can strike a favorable deal)

Re-sign:

LB Dre Greenlaw
OT Jaylon Moore
OL Ben Bartch

RB Jordan Mason - is a tough one, he's not quite worth a Rd2 tender, but if we tender him as original pick (UDFA), then I think he gets snatched up and we have another need for RB

Free Agents:

NB DJ Reed Jr.
C Drew Dalman
NT DJ Jones
TE Tyler Conklin
OL Daniel Brunskill
QB Mac Jones/ QB Zach Wilson
K Austin Seibert / K Cade York (to compete with Moody - I wouldn't cut him just yet)

I think we could afford all that... but Reed and maybe even Jaylon Moore might be out of our price range

Our OL is as bad as we think. The landscape of the NFL right now is that there are the haves, and the have not. I dont care if we had the 5th highest ranked OL -- that just compares us to other bad OLs. I care how well our OL can consistently compare to opposing DLs, and far too often, ours doesn't compare favorably enough.

Yes, there are a lot of bad OLs in the league, and so compared to league average, we might be in decent shape. But it's no coincidence that the best teams in the league are building dominant OLs.
