Kyle Pitts

Trade a 2026 draft pick for pitts. Atlanta is $30+ million over the cap and could save $10+ million if they traded pitts after June 1st. 4.44 40 and gets good separation from lbs and safeties. Would you Trade a 2026 3rd or 2nd for pitts?
No
I'll take the risk if the price is cheap
he's a FA in 2026
so no

maybe at the deadline, if we need another weapon - then collect the comp pick in '27
but I can't see us a paying what he's gonna get for a #2 TE
a team that is still building with a young QB is more likely to trade for him... he'd make sense in WAS, NE or HST

edit: Denver would be a perfect fit

Love to have him and can see him as a great fit but I'd rather keep Jennings + we already have a plethora of weapons rather spend money on defense or the OL
Nah.

I want an old school blocking TE as a TE2 then we can have Kittle run more routes.
So, I looked into Kyle Pitt's contract, and since he's on his 5th-year option, it's fully guaranteed. According to Spotrac and Over the Cap, the entire value of Kyle Pitts' 2025 contract, which is $10,878,000, would be considered "dead money" if he were to be cut or traded, meaning the full $10,878,000 would be counted as dead cap space on the Atlanta Falcons' salary cap.

Key points about Kyle Pitts' 2025 contract:

  • Dead money amount: $10,878,000
  • Reason for full dead money: This is because his contract is fully guaranteed for the 2025 season

You aren't alone. It seems the great blockers and catchers are really unicorns. Guys like Gronk and Kittle will always be my G.O.A.T.s at TE in the modern era.
Could he be used as a Slot Receiver?

He has been moved around a bit, so, yes, that might be possible.

He has never lived up to his potential in Atlanta. UFA next year - Spotrac estimates $11 million/yr market value.

That's the best place to put him.

Agree. I wish he could replace Jauan Jenning's blocking, but no one can do that.
Another athletic freak that didnt quite work out.if he cant block -- run or pass - hr cant play here.
The hype for this dude was crazy in the draft forum. I remember some people wanted the 49ers to take him even after the trade up. The problem was that he can't block, and a tight end that can't block eliminates the ability to create personnel mismatches.
