Mock Draft

I've enjoyed seeing so many mock drafts , some interesting, others questionable. But i wanted to add my two cents, so positive or negative criticism, let's hear it:

GM: John Lynch
HC: Kyle Shanahan

This will be the first time in a while that we make a SPLASH in Free Agency. I'm Excited to see us finally spend some money on real Free Agents that can make a difference. I hope to bring in some good OL during FA, at least one, hopefully two proven starters (because we won't be drafting any in the 1st round)

Free Agents Signed:
NT Poe
WR Pierre Garcon
OLB Chandler Jones
G Kevin Zeitler
QB Brian Hoyer KAP IS GONE! So i hate to say it, but unless we find a way to sign kurk cousins (which i don't think we should, we go after Hoyer as a cheap Vet starter that will get us through the season and to the next draft)

Trades:
49ers hold off on any major trades until draft day (we will make a huge splash during draft day)

Draft (1st 4 rounds):

As much as i love Garrett/ Allen, we just spent TOP first round picks on DEs back to back years. We will develop these pash rushers and focus on our biggest concern from last year on defense...stopping the run. I don't see us drafting another DE even if he is the best player available. I think will get back to our building our Defense around our MLBs (patrick willis days).

49ers Trade Down to No. 6 Overall (Tennessee) and Receive Tennessee's No. 5 (1st round) and No. 18 (1st round) . Titans get the edge rusher that they need on defense with the second over pick (garrett) and we now have 2 1st round picks. We then trade 1-18 to Cleveland for their 2nd and 3rd round pick. Both teams are happy campers.

WE DON'T TAKE A QB IN THE FIRST ROUND

1) ILB R Foster (alabama) (Will instantly give us better run defense, all around hell of a player if he stays healthy. will be a pro bowler in years to come)
2) RB Christian McCaffery (LSU) (Shanahan will bring the two RB scheme to SF and this guy is the perfect change of pace back, also potential return man)
2) CB- Desmond King (IOWA) (Brock is crap, and im not sold on Ward, he needs to go back to nickel. Our starters will be Rashard robinson and Desmond King)
3) QB- Brad Kaaya (MIA) (may compete for starting position, he will be the best QB on the board at this time, we will be lucky to grab him here if we can)
3) WR- Cooper Kupp - (We get the strong route runner that we need, but next year we draft the best/ STUD WR as our #1 go to guy)
4) TE- Jordan Leggett- (Yes, we just handed out a contract, but this guy will be hard to pass up if still available in the 4th round. Will be of tremendous help to QB)

Other potential picks: (2nd round- OLB tim williams. WR- JUJU Smith-Schuster, or WR- DeDe Westbrook)

Offense:

QB1: Brian Hoyer
QB2: Brad Kaaya
QB3: Christian Ponder

RB1: Carlos Hyde
RB2: Christian McCaffery
RB3: Mike Davis/Shaun Draughn

WR1: Pierre Garcon
W2: Torry Smith
SLOT: Jeremy Kerley
WR4: Cooper Kupp
WR5: Rod Streater

TE1: Vance McDonald
TE2: Jordan Leggett
TE3: Garrett Celek

LT: Joe Staley

LG1: Joshua Garnett
LG2: Zane Beadles

C1: Daniel Kilgore
C2: Marcus Martin

RG1: Kevin Zeitler
RG2: Andrew Tiller

RT1: Trenton Brown
RT2: John Theus

Defense:

LDE1: Arik Armstead
LDE2: Ronald Blair

RDE1: DeForest Buckner
RDE2: Quinton Dial

NT1: Poe
NT2: Glenn Dorsey

ROLB: Aaron Lynch
ROLB: Eli Harold

LOLB: Chandler Jones
LOLB: Ahmad Brooks/ Tank Caradine

LILB: Navorro Bowman
LILB2: Gerald Hodges

RILB: R Foster
RILB2: Ray-Ray Armstrong

LCB1: Desmond King, Keith Reaser

Nickel: Jimmie Ward, Chris Davis

RCB1: Rashard Robinson, Dontae Johnson

FS: Eric Reid
FS2: Marcus Cromartie

SS1: Jacquiski Tartt
SS2: Antwon Bethea (he will be lucky to even have a roster spot next year)

Special Teams:

K: Phil Dawson

P: Bradley Pinion

LS: Kyle Nelson

KR: Christian McCaffery

PR: Christian McCaffery

Year 2 of Lynch/ Shanahan = we focus on drafting / signing a a franchise QB and Stud WR and strengthen our OLINE
Year 3 of Lynch / Shanahan = we focus on filling any gaps in the defense and create a strong Special teams unit
Year 4 of Lynch / shanahan= Strong playoff runs and real chances to bring home a championship

3 years of rebuilding and year 4 we will be wreaking havoc on offense and back to our glory Defense days

Cheers !

Oh you went Kaaya. Your gonna get it. Plus you went Foster and said he instantly makes the run defense better. You signed Chandler Jones who's not going anywhere. And Desmond King who I love is being talked about as Safety in the pros not a corner. Good luck man
Nice job, man. Would be stoked if we got those FA signings.

Foster is a stud, if we can trade down from 2nd overall I'd be happy to pick him.

I'd like to take a RB at some point. 2nd rd might be too early considering all our other needs, but being a Stanford fan I love McCaffrey and Shanahan would certainly make good use of a multi-dimensional RB like that.

Desmond King seems like he's specific to a zone scheme. I like the player, but it'll depend on what DC we hire. He could project best to safety as well, and we have plenty of those lol.

I like Kaaya as a backup prospect, not a guy we bank on to develop as a starter. Throws a pretty ball, but plays robotic. Not much playmaking to his game.

Cooper Kupp is a very good player, if he's there in the 3rd it'd be great value. Would instantly be a high volume target from the slot.

Yea, i expect to "get it" lol but that's the thing. Gotta be realistic in FA. Everyone you sign won't "go somewhere", but if you're saying he isn't an improvement to who we have then i don't agree with that. We aren't going to go and sign every expensive FA just because we have the money to shell out. You made a good point about King, but doesn't mean he won't stay at his true position
Your draft is like a kick to the dick after you got me all hot and bothered with the free agency class.

Great points man, thanks for the feedback. in regards to Kaaya, no i don't think he will be the answer for long term starter , but going up against hoyer, he may be able to start next year. whether that is a good thing or bad, i don't know lol. i really think we will find our guy in the upcoming drafts. but we will need to draft a QB and in the 3rd round i don't see too many better options as a fill in qb or back up

😂😂😂 Sorry man. Im assuming that is not a good thing

I like the first trade but im not a fan of the second one. Much rather stay put at 18 and have a shot at a real impact player. And at 5 I would rather pull the trigger on my Wr need rather than wait till next year when we might not be in a position to draft one. Mike Williams would get my nod at the moment. I will wait post combine to officially grade players out but bleacher reports lastest mock has Cooper Kup going #10 overall. One of you is way out in left field, lol.

We can get better value at LB deeper in the draft IMO. Im of the belief that you don't take a LB in the top 10 unless he is a pass rushing beast.

I will say though that it looks realistic at least. Im hoping for a bigger turnover of the roster but that just might not be practical.
Stopped reading after it said Garrett would play DE

I loved King last year and I thought he would build on his success from last season and he didn't take the next step. Last year he was one of the best corners and I still think he can be. If we were to draft him I would hope they let him have a crack at corner cause he can flat out cover. But he is more suited to a zone coverage defense. I agree Chandler Jones would be a huge upgrade I just don't see the Cardinals letting him go. I'm not a Reuben Foster fan. I think he will be a solid pro but I don't see the special people are talking about with him. He's fast and hits like a truck. But he plays undisciplined and lowers his head going for the big hit to often.
Kupp will be long gone then

AZ didn't give up a 2nd rounder to rent Jones for a season. I think they'll do whatever it takes to keep him.

I'd love Poe and Jones in FA. But agree Jones isn't leaving. Poe if we aren't switching to a 4-3 would be great. I'm not as big on Foster as many are but with the free agents in your scenario I'd be ok with it. Love McCaffery, but mainly BC Shanahan will utilize him perfectly. CB late 2nd makes sense but King won't be the best one at that point. He is considered a better Safety prospect. Kaaya will be the best QB available in the 3rd but I'd grab one sooner. Love Kupp and Leggett but I think Leggett goes in the 3rd. Overall good job. If we gain 5 starters in free agency and another 3-4 in the draft I'd be ecstatic
