Offense
OL - IMO The most important person on the OL is the Center. Especially if you're going to sandwich him with 2 young prospects. I put Beadles there because even with his share of injuries, he's still more durable than Kilgore. He's got what it takes to guide the 2 maulers next to him on the field. I trust him sorting out the pass pro calls to the yougins. I'm hoping that he can restore his quality of play with the line not changing from week to week. I know some of you zoners are high on Brown but study the Theus film. The man is a technician. Cooper isn't too bad either. Communication and durability played a big factor with the Niners struggles last season.
- LT Staley
- LG Dorian Johnson
- C Beadles
- RG Garnett
- RT Brown/Theus/Cooper (Camp battle)
- T SUB Brown/Theus/Cooper
- IOL SUB Tiller/Kilgore
Backs - Yes, I too have jumped on the JG bandwagon. He can be accurate all over the field and is decently as mobile as to want your pocket passer to be. 2 things I was unsure about was system and durability. I trust him with Shanahan way more than I do with any Pats assistant sans Belichick. Other than the injury last season, he was able to consistently play in his 4 years of college. Kamara gives us the change of pace dual threat back. DiMarco follows the guys that gets him the most involved.
- QB Jimmy Garoppolo
- HB1 Hyde
- 3DB Alvin Kamara
- FB Patrick DiMarco
- Backup QB Matt Schuab, Jerod Evans
WR/TE - This WR core will be a work in progress. I'm not really sold on Smith's route running to put him in the slot. Ellington has a lot of talent that have been sidelined due to injury. Dede does have what it takes but all the WCO verbage along with the fact that we're already starting another rookie has him on the sidelines to start. We're stuck with McDonald thanks to Trent's last gasp contract. I think we continue to see a trend of Shanahan's old players following him like they did in Atl. Enter blocking RZ threat Toilolo . Exit Celek.
- X Corey Davis
- Z Smith
- S Ellington
- Y McDonald
- SUB X,Z Patton
- SUB S Dede Westbrook
- SUB TE Levine Toilolo
Defense
DL - I've been saying it all along, Buckner is a prototypical 4-3 and AA fits the 3 tech mold. AA does better at holding his point against the run while Buck can beat Tackles in both the run and pass. Add that to the super sized Lynch putting his hand in the ground and we are a DT away from completing our 4 man front. Hankins follows his DL coach to SF. With him and the 4-3, the Niners run D becomes the complete opposite of last year.
- RDE Buckner
- LDE Lynch
- 1DT Johnathan Hankins
- 3DT Armstead
- Sub DE Blair, Devonte Fields
- Sub DT Dorsey, Eddie Vanderdoes
LB - TB was oblivious to this position. Bowman and Willis were legendary. We lose Bow and Borland balls out. Bow returns but we lose both Willis & Borland and draft 8 corners and 0 LBs. Instead, we're hoping for special teams aces to play above their ability. sigh idiot. While a great Reddick SR Bowl showing is all the hype, I think you would be pleasantly surprised at the awareness Kelsey brings.
- SLB Bowman - 2 huge leg injuries have to limit mobility. I'm having this guy play the Thomas Davis role
- MLB Zach Brown - The sideline to sideline tackling machine
- WLB Haasan Reddick
- SUB OLB Harold, Keith Kelsey
- SUB MLB Armstrong, Keith Kelsey
DB - 1st of all, a guy with the ball hawking abilities of Jimmie Ward should be playing up top, NOT manned up on a slot. The fact that Baalke tried to coach DBs at one point speaks volumes on how out of touch SF was. Who the hell even drafts a safety to play nickle in the 1st round?! What the hell kinda non former playing GM does that? sigh Anyways, Reid and Tartt go at it for the SS spot and we start using all those stock piled CBs that the dummy kept picking. Thanks for the memories AB41 and Brock.
- CB Robinson
- CB Johnson
- NCB Reaser, Shepherd
- FS Ward
- SS Tartt/Reid (Camp Battle)
