Mock Draft/Free agency 2.0 Otis

I don't see us getting Hightower in any scenario and no to a qb at pick 2 imo.

It is a decent mock though. Most mocks i've seen are people in fantasy land thinking they can fix every hole on our roster in one off season.

Not going to happen unfortunately.
Once again we'd have the worst QBs in the league.

I like it a lot. I would add in Hoyer along with Schaub. I don't think the Patriots will let Hightower go but you never know with Belichick. Would be a great start to a rebuild. Also thanks for keeping it realistic, some of these mocks are just
Realistic and doable.

IMHO NT is the single biggest need on defense...so, why not go for the best FA available, Brandon Williams. Hankins is ok, but I'm thinking ok isn't good enough to really solidify our front 3. Since Shanahan & Lynch will have completed their roster evaluations prior to the FA period, if they like Kerley, why would they only sign him for 1 year. If not, then why sign him at all. Like you, I'd rather have Hoyer, so we'll see which way Shanahan goes. Stills has downfield speed, which is always welcome, and pairing him up w/Torrey Smith could be a very good thing. That said, I'd like for Lynch to do one of two things...either draft Mike Williams or sign another FA WR...maybe Terrelle Pryor. I say that because we have no proven WR's with size. Granted Williams will be a rookie, but he's also the best WR in the country. The other guy I question is Hightower...he's been a 4-3 OLB for the Pats, and there are several very good 3-4 OLB's available like Melvin Ingram, Chandler Jones & Nick Perry. Lastly on the FA's, why not sign Micah Hyde over Shields. Hyde can play both CB & S and hasn't had the injury issues Shields has.

For the draft...I like Trubisky, but not as a #2 pick. I don't see Lynch/Shanahan taking any of this year's QB's that high. They should trade down to get the extra picks and use them to get Garrapolo. If we trade with either the Bears or Jets, WR Mike Williams could still be on the board. I don't see Shanahan with a journeyman or rookie starting QB. I don't get Watt...you've signed a 3-4 OLB already in FA. Where's the ILB? I'd use that pick to get Zach Cunningham, arguably the most NFL-ready of this year's crop. Instead of WR Jones in the 3rd, why not Patrick Mahomes. If they feel he may go earlier, they'll have the picks to trade up to get him in the 2nd. Elfwein is rated much higher than Fuller at C. I like McNichols, Kareem Hunt & Brian Hill a lot better than Jamaal Williams. I see Shanahan wanting a RB who's adept at catching the ball out of the backfield as well as taking some hits away from Hyde.

at the end of the day I don't think we will land every high end free agent that we want. That's why I don't believe we land Poe, but probably Hankins since the Dline coach coming from there is here now. Hyde is gonna get a big contract he's youthful and versitle, my guess is we take the vet that is absolutely as good as Hyde only he's had some concussion issues. Kinda hitting that leadership role with that pick since he's won a SB. I would of much rather had Kareem Hunt then Williams but Hunt wont be available at that spot. End of the day the suggestions you made are nice but a totally different mock then what I got going on. I also got two OLB because I feel we need an upgrade at both. Lynch is missing some mental stability imo.

OOOOWEEEEE
Hodges, Watt, Bowman standing up would be nice. Hankins and Tupou or AA in the middle, goodbye run defense problems. Really nice mock.
