1st Mock Off-Season Attempt

I did the following mock using the firstpick website. I tried to do it as realistically as I could. I used the analysis on NFL.com especially for the late round guys I wasn't too familiar with. I'm projecting the 49ers are able to sign a few decent level free agents but rely mostly on the draft, also assuming they are moving to a 4-3. Here we go...

Re-Sign:

Phil Dawson
Quinton Patton
Glenn Dorsey

Notable Free Agent Additions:

Matt Schaub, QB (ATL) - Bridge QB for a year or 2. Let Peterman or early drafted QB in 2018 sit and learn.
Chris Baker, DT (WAS) - Big body along the DL, is NT for certain alignments
Ronnie Hillman, RB (MIN) - Familiarity w/ Adam Peters and similar run scheme from Denver days.
Pierre Garcon, WR (WAS) - Familiar w/ Shanahan's offense, could be a big help to younger WR's.
Sean Spence, ILB (TEN) - Backup in case Bowman can't recover quickly

Draft:

I traded down a little bit in the 2nd round to pick up an additional 3rd. Other than that no trades. I realized afterwards that we probably wont draft 3 WR's, especially if we sign one in FA, but they seemed like good value late and who knows, the more drafted, the better chance of one of them working out.

Round 1 Pick 2: Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford - Takes over as the LEO position on the D Line. Potential multiple pro bowl player.

Round 2 Pick 7 (NYJ): Pat Elflein, C/OG, Ohio State - Versatile lineman capable of playing multiple positions. Really seems like a Lynch/Shanahan type pick.

Round 3 Pick 2: Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina - Fast WR with great hands. Could potentially be a #1 at some point, although more likely a #2.

Round 3 Pick 6 (NYJ): Zach Banner, OG/OT, Southern California - More OL depth, especially if Trent Brown ends up being too heavy to play in this offense.

Round 4 Pick 2: Marlon Mack, RB, South Florida - Super fast prospect and would be a great compliment to Hyde.

Round 4 Pick 38: Nathan Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh - Played in pro-style offense, seems like a steady headed guy who could at very least be a solid backup.

Round 5 Pick 2: Daeshon Hall, DE, Texas A&M - Once he moved from LB to DE, production increased. Nice potential and could develop into a solid starter.

Round 6 Pick 2: Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston - Super Athletic player who could potentially develop into a starter at some point. Instant special team player.

Round 6 Pick 18: Chad Hansen, WR, California - Underrated prospect who's expected to test well at the combine. Consistent player who could go earlier.

Round 7 Pick 1: Travin Dural, WR, LSU - Potential sleeper and hasn't had great QB play throughout his entire career.

Round 7 Pick 2: Freddie Stevenson, FB, Florida State - Arguably the best fullback in the draft, has a good chance to make the team.

Trent Brown to heavy but Banner is okay?
Would rather go after WR Cooper Kupp if he is available in the 3rd. I highly doubt he is but would LOVE him over Jones.

Lmao this. Terrible rationale.

Don't get me wrong Banner has tremendous upside. And in the right scheme where he doesn't have to pull often he could be a solid guard.

Elflein, Garrnett, Banner? That right side is gonna get burned all day. Banner can move. Elfein can't hold a block.

are you implying that soloman is better than garrett or that garrets gone? Because Garrett is a perfect fit for LEO
