Let me have it. I'm not going to five much analysis to assuage concerns, so I'll just jump in with FA and draft additions and then I'll give my 53 for the beginning of the year.
FA Additions:
QB Jay Cutler - Knows the system and is a good playaction QB that can make all the throws in the pocket and on the move. Will turn the ball over too much, but we're not going to the playoffs and he will allow our other offensive weapons to develop as a pass first QB. Ties to Lynch and Shannahan.
QB Matt Shaub - Vet that can work with rookie to show him the ropes. Rookie will be inactive first year.
WR Pierce Garcon - Plays the Anquan Bolin role, but more explosive and better rac. Ties to Shannahan.
OG Larry Warford - Good zone blocking guard, who I believe Martin Mayhew drafted in Detroit. Allows Beadles to battle for the Center position.
OT Kelvin Beachum - Battles with Trenton Brown for the RT spot. Hopefully pushes Brown to the reserve swing tackle position as he is a poor fit for this offense.
LEO Nick Perry - A little younger than Ingram. Should be more affordable and I think he has more upside as a pass rusher if he can stay healthy.
NT Earl Mitchell - Good run stopper
Re-sign
NT Glen Dorset - Good rotational NT and insurance if Mitchell gets hurt.
LB Gerald's Hodges - Solid LB with versatility to play the Will and the Mike.
DRAFT
1. QB Mitch Trubisky - I belive that he is the prototypical QB that Shannahan is looking for minus the experience. With Garrett presumably gone and no other blue chippers as pass rusher or OT, I think this is the route they go. Trubisky sits for a year to learn the terminology and replaces Cutler during year 2.
2. WR/RB Curtis Samuels - Christian McCaffery on steroids. He's an electric player from the backfield and the slot. Natural runner with vision inside and requisite toughness and natural has catcher with speed to burn. Can use him all over the field.
3. LEO/SAM Jordan Willis - Kid jumps off the screen when watching Kansas St. Play. Nice get off, athleticism and relentlessness.
4a. Will Elijah Lee - Another Kansas St. Product. fast, athletic and explosive hitter that can break down and tackle.
4b. WR Train Duran - Watched this kid a couple years ago and saw a day 2 pick. I guess his stock has dropped because of poor QB play, but he's a future starter in this offense to me.

You lost me at re-signing Dorsey it was terrible in a 4-3 already. And then still drafting a quarterback at number two when there's none available that are top 15 Talent period I just can't see it

Schaub is ahead of no one. Actually taking Trubisky which I dont dislike with #2, rendered Schaub redundant. I suggest you consider filling the 3rd qb spot with a lower draft pick.

I like Curtis Samuels a lot but you say he's McCaffrey on steroids? Come on.
