those are highlights, not game footage....

I watched until 2 minute mark, he leaves the pocket once out of about 10 pass pays and does so because the play action as busted and he was forced out.

You'd think his highlights would include his most impressive plays right? And I never said he always leaves the pocket. If he ever throws to his second read, he does so after he's left the pocket. Can you point to a single play where he gets to his second read and steps up in the pocket?

3:35 of the same video I posted, he dumps it off to his second read

Also whether a QB "goes through his progressions" is very subjective without knowing the play call and diagnosing the defensive coverage. Its very difficult to diagnose defense coverage and what Mahomes is possibly reading with a TV-game view look because half the time you can't even see what he safety is doing (unless he happens to go deep or something).

Take a look at the play at 0:40 - How do you know he didn't go through progressions there? He could have easily read the coverage on 2 WRs on the left before going to the TE. You can debate that play a whole lot subjectively. It looks to me like its play action, his eyes are towards the left half of the field, he read man coverage and saw his TE flow into the space created by the LB biting on the play action. Yet because the ball goes out in 3 seconds, he doesn't do progressions? Conversely a Mahomes hater could say they see him locking onto the TE the entire play.

Or at 0:50, he is looking down the field off the snap and at the last second turns to the right and fires the pass. Why is that not considered a progression?

Fair analysis. And my answer is that you can't tell on plays where he gets the ball out quickly. But on plays where it takes 4-6 seconds to get the ball out, you can see he looks down at the pass rush and tries to escape the pocket rather than keeping his eyes down field and climbing the pocket. Every time.

He's moving up the boards. Pay attention. Rather have him in 2nd than any QB in the first

I am paying attention and I know that...read my post before. I'm not saying he'll go in rounds 4-5. I'm saying I wouldn't pull the trigger until rounds 4-5. I don't think he's going to be a quality starter in the NFL. His two biggest strengths are arm strength and athleticism, probably the two most overrated QB prospect attributes. He leaves a ton to be desired elsewhere.

I will bet you my next paycheck he goes before then, 4th-5th round that is.

For the 4th time, I do not think he'll go in the 4th or 5th round. I think that's where he should go.
