3:35 of the same video I posted, he dumps it off to his second read
Also whether a QB "goes through his progressions" is very subjective without knowing the play call and diagnosing the defensive coverage. Its very difficult to diagnose defense coverage and what Mahomes is possibly reading with a TV-game view look because half the time you can't even see what he safety is doing (unless he happens to go deep or something).
Take a look at the play at 0:40 - How do you know he didn't go through progressions there? He could have easily read the coverage on 2 WRs on the left before going to the TE. You can debate that play a whole lot subjectively. It looks to me like its play action, his eyes are towards the left half of the field, he read man coverage and saw his TE flow into the space created by the LB biting on the play action. Yet because the ball goes out in 3 seconds, he doesn't do progressions? Conversely a Mahomes hater could say they see him locking onto the TE the entire play.
Or at 0:50, he is looking down the field off the snap and at the last second turns to the right and fires the pass. Why is that not considered a progression?
