Bimbo 2-Year Mock

Analyzing the roster coming out of the early days of FA, we still need a #1 WR, and a QB of the future, but then there are a number of other positions where we have capable players on the roster, but that could definitely use upgrades.
  • LEO (Replaces Lynch)
  • CB (Replaces Brock)
  • DT/NT (Replaces Mitchell/Dial)
  • LG (Replaces Beadles)
  • C (Replaces Kilgore)
  • WILL (Smith)
  • SAM (Brooks)

ADDITIONAL FA SIGNINGS

Johnathan Hankins NT/DT – With so much youth along the D-line, plugging in a natural run stuffer between Armstead / Buckner will be huge.
Jacob Tamme TE – Knows the system, and joins McDonald in our 2 TE sets which are a big part of Shanahan's scheme

TRADE
49ers trade 1st round (2)
For
Jets 1st round (6), and 2018 1st rounder

The Jets are apparently hot for Trubisky, and we are in position to hold him hostage, and drive up the bidding. Given that we are waiting on Cousins for a year, this gives us a back-up plan by ensuring we have the draft capital to move up in the 2018 draft to get our guy if Cousins stays put or signs elsewhere.

2017 DRAFT
1 (6) – Mike Williams WR – Prototype of a #1 Wide Receiver.
2 (34) – Takkarist McKinley LEO – Great athleticism, and fits the mold of the type of person we're targeting. Injury concerns might drop him here.
3 (66) – Nathan Peterman QB – Developmental guy who fits what Shanahan is looking for
4 (102) – Pat Elfin C – Hard nosed leader who can man the middle for 10 years
4 Comp Pick – Alex Anzalone SAM LB – Has the size and athleticism to play the SAM role
5 (147) – Howard Wilson CB – Long, playmaking corner with a good amount of upside
5 (162) – Jalen Reeves-Mayben WILL LB – Love his playmaking and motor. Size is a bit of an issue, but could be mitigated in the WILL position
6 (188) – Aviante Collins OG – Great athlete who can be a developmental player
6 (206) – T.J. Logan RB – Home run hitter
7 (224) – Josh Tupou NT – Has the raw material to develop as a nose tackle

2018 FA
Kirk Cousins. While we've prepared in the scenario we need to draft a QB of the future in 2018, we still go hard after Cousins, and I'm guessing he signs. This allows us to go after non QBs at the top of the 2018 draft.

2018 DRAFT
It's way to early to project this out at length, but if we indeed nab Cousins in FA, we can use our top two picks to grab high level players at key positions. I'm proposing we get a #1 cornerback, as well as an offensive tackle that can be groomed to replace Staley. He can start at guard for a year, or move T Brown to the bench while we let Staley play out his career.

QB – Cousins / Hoyer / Peterman
HB – Hyde / Davis / Logan
FB – Juszcyk
WR1 – Williams / Rogers / Smelter
WR2 – Garcon / Goodwin / Robinson
Slot – Kerley / Carter / Ellington
TE – Tamme / McDonald / Celek / Paulsen / Bell
LT – Staley / Theus
LG – Rookie OT / Beadles
C – Elflein / Kilgore
RG – Garnett / Collins
RT – Brown

RE – Buckner / Blair
NT – Hankins / Mitchell
DT – Armstead / Dial
LEO – McKinley / Lynch / Carradine
SAM – Anzalone / Harold
MIKE – Bowman / Miller
WILL – Smith / Reeves-Mayben / Armstrong
CB – Rookie CB / Brock / Wilson
SS – Reid / Tartt
FS – Ward
CB – Robinson / Johnson
Slot – Williams / Redmond

All in all, we'd be looking at 1 year of foundation building, and then I think we'd have a playoff ready squad in 2018. If we can nab Cousins early in FA, I could also forsee us becoming a popular FA destination.
Nice moves
2 yr mock with only 1 yr mocked not bad personally I'd rather have C.Davis over Williams

I like the Williams and Peterman picks. Very, realistic.

More about thinking about this year within the context of the future. Point being, we aren't going to fix it all in one offseason, but we can be prepared to make a run as early as 2018!
Jets better kick in a 2017 2nd round pick to make this happen.
dont dislike this.

And another mid round pick this year.

I still like the Jets as a potential target if we're talking picks in this years draft. We could probably snag all of their 2nd and 3rd round picks this year to move down. It would make for a sexier mock draft, but realistically, I think getting next years 1st, which could end up being a top 10 pick would be a great scenario, and position us for the most success going forward.

I like this too. Only problems I have is Hyde wont stay healthy not if, he wont. Davis can't start. Number two beadles needs to start. He is an all pro in the zone. I doubt a rookie will take his job
