NYniner85 post combine mock 2017

Looks like we have brought in some vets and some depth...great start to the off season! upgraded WR,Center, FB, LB, and ST.

First off, I'd like to say I hope we trade down but I don't see a player worth moving up for unless someone falls for a QB or a safety....so this is based off NO trade down at 2. I'm also going off of the CBS big board.

1st-Solomon Thomas DE- the 2nd best player in this draft period. He can line up all over that line and also be thrown out as a LEO when needed. People will poo poo on this, but we aren't at a point were we can pass on all-pro talent at any position. He's athletic as s**t and his combine/film can back it up...top five in bench, 20 yard shuttle, 3 cone, broad jump... things that show explosion and short area quickness (which is what you want in a pass rusher). AA hasn't earned anything yet (I'm still a supporter) but we have a new FO and competition is needed. I'll add we will be playing out of nickle a ton which makes Thomas even more special.

2nd- TRADE* everyone thinks we will be trading with the Jet's in the 1st BUT a QB like Kizer or Mahomes might drop to the 34th pick and they might want them. We get an extra 4th out of the deal

Tyus Bowser OLB-Here's are LEO/SAM of the future! I see him more of a SAM... he's an explosive and a quick-twitch athlete. He had a great Senior bowl and continued that theme into the combine. (IF he's not here I'm going with Budda Baker at FS)

TRADE* move back into the back end of the 2nd (give up our 3rd and the Jet's 4th)

Zay Jones WR-Most productive WR in college history? Sure I'll take that! His family is full of football players so there's a pedigree there. Runs amazing routes and has the size to make contested balls. He's not a bunner, but I see him as our Garcon of the future....He's a perfect fit for Shanny's offense.

4th- Sidney Jones-CB He's my favorite CB in this class, it's a damn shame that he torn his achilles, he will be red shirt this yr. People have been saying he's gonna drop to the 3rd day and if that's the case I'll take it. We have Brock for one more yr and RR and Jones as our future outside CBs?? I'll take that.

* really wanted to put my boy Nate "the great" Peterman here and CBS rankings has him there but I just don't see it happening.

4th (comp)- Marlon Mack RB- Here's our COP back, dude has wiggle and can change direction on a dime. He was very productive South Florida (3 yrs 1,000 yards) He's got that second gear/can catch the ball...he would be perfect for for kyle's ZBS.

5th-Justin Evans SS- He comes to hit...that said he doesn't have ideal size for SS now but can add a couple LBs to his big frame. I think he just get's lost in the shuffle and makes it to the 5th.

6th- Jessamen Dunker-OG He's athletic and has good length...this class overall is super weak across the board at OL, but nothing wrong with adding a little depth in the late rds.

6th-Stevie Tu'ikocovato NT-big fatty that can soak up blockers. We need some depth and he's good to go here.

7th- chad Kelly- LOL I don't see us going hard for any QB... while he does have talent he's a dummy BUT maybe Kyle can work some magic. 7th rd pick so who cares.

I still think Kirk will be the QB in 2018...if not we go hard for one of the top guys. Like all-in.

Okay there it is...this could all change once we get some more ideas on who we're are talking to and visiting.

Thanks man
As an aggie fan I think Evans is Reid 2.0 misses tackles going for the hit. Bad angles and shaky in coverage
Nice, Bowser is very intriguing to me, don't and didn't kno much of him but his tape shows nothing but a baller who brings it constantly, really like the Zay Jones pick too, maybe I'll get killed for this but he has part of some Odell Beckham Jr in his game to me..

That's why he's dropping to the 5th...not a finished product. Not everyone we are gonna draft are gonna be sure fire starters especially in the lower rds

Love me some Jones...I wouldn't say OBJ he's not a quick and is bigger.

I've seen comps of him all over the place from ty Hilton, Jeremy Maclin, Landry, sanders etc...imo I see a little faster Crabtree.

As far as bowser he really shined at the senior bowl/combine, he's got great balance and change of direction....a high 2nd might be a little early on him but whatever.
Very nice job! Very realistic!! 👍
Didn't match a single pick of mine except our affinity for Peterman. Though I like the Zay Jones pick. But I want me some Hooker and Corey Davis.
Nice to see someone else who likes Marlon Mack so I'll give u a bigg for him...over all not bad I'm with u about trading down its a must IMO get more picks maybe see if we can trade back into tha 1st get 2 good players C.Davis and H.Reddick, M.Mack, N.Petermen them 4 would be a perfect draft IMO wouldn't care who else we got...
I'm all for trading down with the number 2 pick, assuming Garrett is gone (Which he will be). If Cleveland really does want to make sure it gets Watson, then trading with them could do wonders for us. They have TONS of picks, and we'd only slide down to the 12th pick, while accumulating quite a few more picks not only this year, but for next year as well. Doubtful they move up that high though, and the Jets are in full on rebuild, so I don't see them trading UP to get someone, they might stay pat, or look to move down as well.

Don't know if we'll find a partner to trade down with in the 1st, but I hope we do. There are to many needs for this team, and I'd rather get multiple players in the first 2 or 3 rounds, than just draft where we currently stand.
Thomas and Bowser would infuse our front 7 with a lot of athleticism.

We'd all love to trade down I'm just being realistic

I can't justify drafting a safety at two just can't...there's been one safety taken at two since 1991 and three top 5 picks, it's simply just not that important of a position compared to pass rusher, qb, OT, CB, WR.

He's currently injuried and one real yr of starting experience...lynch going safety would be kinda lame lol. I like Buddha baker in the 2nd if your looking at a good FS that's not gonna cost you the #2.

Davis I'd love he's my top wr and imo can me a top #1 can't take him at two either...trade down is ideal but I just don't see a player a team is gonna trade up for.
