Lobo's 2017 mock

Blair Brown? DeAngelo Henderson? These are EXCELLENT picks.

This is my favorite mock on this board, hands down.

Gonna have to agree with Hero here, best mock I've seen as well. Very realistic and it tackles a lot of needs with good prospects. I love Hooker and think he can be a top 5 FS in this league, but I also feel like if Ward was given the chance he could be a top 10 FS. That's my only hesitation on drafting Hooker, other than his injuries. But that's for the Hooker thread. Nice job man!

Thank you! And I agree, I think Ward would be good there. I just think Hooker would be elite. Ward is such a good player for us. He can start at CB, play well at single high FS, and cover the slot. Like Lynch said, we don't have 2-14 talent.

Agreed. The key about taking Hooker is it completes the rebuild for an entire unit. Now you have Ward+Rookie competing, Robinson outside, Hooker and Tartt at S and Redmond for the slot. Secondary is built! While it is unconventional to take a S at #2, this isn't a conventional defense. Hooker is as critical to the secondary as the ER's are to the front 7. This checks off the box, BPA @ a need position.

Even with just BPA, Solomon Thomas, you still need a true NT and a true LEO...in fact, a couple strong edge rushers.

But this pick completes one full unit...like a Mike Williams/Corey Davis for the WCO passing game...or Foster for the LB's. When you're building, that's a great feeling of accomplishment.
Logged in just to comment that I love this mock draft. With the mocks I do everyday just killing time on my phone, I often come up with Golladay and Henderson as later round picks. Witherspoon, Hooker, developmental QB in Peterman...well rounded draft and would be stoked if it played out like this!
Nice mock! I was not up on Kenny Golladay. Dude looks like DeAndra Hopkins
Strong draft. Realistic to boot.
Nice mock
Not the way I would do it but cogently argued and a logical draft.

Thanks NC. You nailed my strat - complete the secondary (1st and 3rd pick, FS, and CB), get a starter and some depth at Edge, and bolster the inside with two 330 pounders (one in FA, the other in the draft). The DLine now has the elements it needs to succeed, as does the secondary. The LB Core is probably the most "ready to go" unit on the D, but I still added some more talent there as well. The Offense didn't get a lot of love, but it did get some key pieces going forward.
I reviewed my mock, and noticed that I failed to provide my pick for the top of the 5th round (copy paste error).

So, it's been updated. With that pick, we take: 5th Round: Dawuane Smoot, DE Illinois – 6'3" 264 – What's better than having some good pass rushers on your team? Adding another good pass rusher on the team. When we're in sub (nickel/dime), we're going to need two pass rushers on the field. We've already drafted one. Now we've got another, and more depth. Our front 7 is getting significantly better. Production: In 2015, 40 tackles, 15 for loss, eight sacks, and three forced fumbles. 2016, Smoot was a team captain and a third-team all-conference, 56 stops, 15 for loss, and five sacks. Measureables: 4.7 40yard, 4.39 shuttle.

Thank you! Yeah, digging around and finding Golladay and Henderson was fun. You were way ahead of me .

I'm not saying Golladay is the next Hopkins, but there are times when he "looks" like him (mostly due to his frame, and where he's making plays).

Hopkins:

Golladay:
