11 days to go. Last mock.

Trade 1.2 to Carolina for 1.8, 2.40 and a 2018 1st.

Carolina moves up for Leonard Fournette who will be prefect for what they do and to keep Cam healthy.

I think John Lynch will try to re-create the Bucs blueprint. A dominant DT (Warren Sapp), a dominant LB (Derrick Brooks) and a dominant safety (Himself) Soloman Thomas is a nice pick at 2 but I think we look to trade down and acquire picks.

Round 1 Pick 8: JAMAL ADAMS, SS, LSU 6'0, 214

I love Adams. We are starting fresh with new coaches and a whole new scheme. We need leaders and Adams is the best in the draft. He leads by example. He will be perfect as a SS close to the LOS and should put up Landon Collins numbers early on. 120+ tackles, 4 sacks, 5 INT's. This kid is one of the safest picks available.

I love this quote from NFL.com

"Interchangeable safety with a sheriff's mentality. Adams is a physical tone-setter who should thrive near the line of scrimmage or in a robber role. Should be a commanding presence in the locker room early on and his do-as-I-do play demeanor could be the catalyst for turning a struggling defense around quickly"

Round 2 Pick 2: JORDAN WILLIS, DE, Kansas State 6'4, 255

He was one of the most athletic defensive ends at the recent scouting combine, finishing in the top 6 at his position in four drills, including the 40-yard dash (4.53 seconds) and vertical jump (39 inches). The only defensive lineman who outpaced Willis in the 40-yard dash was Temple's Haason Reddick, who was 18 pounds lighter

Willis' 10-yard split in the 40-yard dash -- which measures how quickly a pass-rusher can burst up field -- was 1.54 seconds, impressive for someone his size. Over the last decade only a few lineman who were 250 pounds or more have been faster over that distance. One of them was Cliff Avril (1.50), who now mans the elephant end position in Seattle's defense.

Round 2 Pick 8: BLAIR BROWN, MLB, Ohio 5'11, 238

I love Bowman. He is the leader of our D but how long can we rely on him? Will be come back and make an impact? He wasn't the same last year prior to his injury and Brown will be a playmaking machine and learn from one of the best.

He ranked 3rd in run stop percentage, Made a play once every 6.4 snaps, Missed just 2 tackles
Blitzes effectively: 4.5 sacks among his 15 TFL

More athletic than 83% of NFL LBs (sparq)
4.66 40-yard dash
37″ vertical jump
4.18 short shuttle
6.92 3-cone

*Ranked first in FBS in tackling efficiency with just three misses and 96 solo tackles.
*Ranked third in FBS in run-stop percentage; had 47 stops.
*In 2016, only Reuben Foster had higher overall and run-defense grades than Brown's 92.4 and 91.5.
*131 total tackles tied for the second-most among FBS ILBs.

Round 3 Pick 2: DEMARCUS WALKER, DT, Florida State 6'4, 280

No-one can argue his production:

Junior- 56 tackles, 14 for losses, 9 sacks and an INT
Senior- 67 tackles, 19.5 for losses, 16 sacks

I think he can be a nice 5 tech but he could really make some noise as an interior rusher at 3 tech. I like this guy.

Round 4 Pick 2: JOSH REYNOLDS, WR, Texas A&M 6'3, 195

He just makes plays and would make a nice Z as well as a nice red zone option. 2788 yards, 30 TD's and a 17.0 AVG in 3 years in a tough conference. Im not sure he is available here but if he is he makes a very nice sleeper pick.

Round 4 Pick 36 (COMP): DONTA FOREMAN, RB, Texas 6'1, 249

Big back who finally put it together last year as a junior after being a high recruit. He had 2048 yards, 15 TDs and a 6.3 Avg. I think he can be a serious threat in Shanahan's offence.

Round 5 Pick 2: JOE MATHIS, DE, Washington 6'2, 255

If he stayed healthy he probably would have been a round 2 selection. Big time edge rusher with a relentless motor. He was leading the nation in pass rush productivity before he hurt his foot. Put him as LEO or SAM and let him get after the QB.

Round 5 Pick 17: STEVIE TUIKOLOVATU, DT, Southern California 6'1, 335

What do you do when your D allows the most rushing yards in franchise history? Draft a 335 pound beast of a NT. Put him on on running downs or on the GL and let him clog up lanes.

Round 6 Pick 14: JEREMY CLARK, CB, Michigan 6'3, 220

Tore up his ACL in the 4th game last year. But with a 6th round pick it's not that big of a gamble. Big guy who could excel in a press scheme.

Round 6 Pick 18: TJ LOGAN, RB, North Carolina 5'9, 196

Home run hitter with track speed. 4.37-40. Great all purpose player. 120-675 yards, 7 TD's, 29 receptions for 244 yards and 3 TD's, 21 returns for 690 yards and 2 TD's.

Round 7 Pick 1: CJ BEATHARD, QB- Iowa 6'2, 220

Pro-Style QB. Had a very nice junior year and was named 2nd team All Big ten with 17 TD's, 5 INT's, 2809 yards. Struggled as a Senior but lost alot of his pass catchers to injuries and was banged up himself. At the very least he should be a capable

With DeForest Buckner, Navarro Bowman/Blair Brown and Jamal Adams, John Lynch has his Bucs blueprint.

I really like the looks of this draft. I tried adding a CB high but it didn't work. So we will roll with the youngsters we have. I think the additions of Jordan Willis, DeMarcus Walker and Joe Mathis will revive this stagnant pass rush as well as bigger contributions from Arik Armstead and Aaron Lynch. Blair Brown is a run stopping machine and will step in without a beat if we lose Bowman or is he struggles coming back. Big Stevie is a monster at NT and should clog up lanes.

Josh Reynolds, Donta Foreman and TJ Logan add some nice pieces to Shanahan's offense and I think Beathard can can a nice backup with some coaching.

All in all I think we could add some guard depth, maybe look to add to our CB group more and maybe add a TE but you can't hit all the needs in one draft and I think I helped fix some of our biggest needs with fixing the pass rush and stopping the run.

Given it's going to take at least two years to develop ANY QB from this class, I just can't see the ShanaLynch era starting out with 4 defensive picks and a 7th round QB. Hoyer is only here for 2 years to help develop the rookie QB we acquire in this year's draft. Don't get me wrong, I like your mock...just don't see the new era starting this way.
Hey we all know we will be making a run for Cousins next year. But if not, lets build a strong team that can support starting a rookie QB if need be.

Im not a fan of any QB this year especially with a top pick.

Next year has 5 really good QB's in Luke Falk, Josh Allen, Mason Rudolph, Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold.

I see your logic...and hope you're right...but no matter if you go Trubisky, Watson, Peterman or Falk, Allen, Rudoplh, Rosen or Darnold, the clock on them learning our WCO system doesn't start until they are drafted. If you want to wait a year, you just pushed the 2-year minimum clock back 2 years. If you're 100% confident you'll get Cousins, by all means, brother!

People said the same thing last year during this time about this class. Things change fast over the span of one season. All of those guys could fall on their faces.

Kaaya was being mocked the the Niners second overall around this time last year. Watson was slotted to go number one overall. Things change fast.

I would only swap adams for hooker, so the offense can get the ball more. And I think we have better strong safeties than free.. Other than that great draft.

Funny thing is right after I posted my mock I watched this video. It might have changed my mind.

I doubt Hooker is available at 8 but how about this with no trade down:

Round 1 Pick 2: MALIK HOOKER, FS, OSU 6'2, 205
Round 2 Pick 2: JORDAN WILLIS, DE, Kansas State 6'4, 255
Round 3 Pick 2: DEMARCUS WALKER, DT, Florida State 6'4, 280
Round 4 Pick 2: JOSH REYNOLDS, WR, Texas A&M 6'3, 195
Round 4 Pick 36 (COMP): DONTA FOREMAN, RB, Texas 6'1, 249
Round 5 Pick 2: JOE MATHIS, DE, Washington 6'2, 255
Round 5 Pick 17: STEVIE TUIKOLOVATU, DT, Southern California 6'1, 335
Round 6 Pick 14: JEREMY CLARK, CB, Michigan 6'3, 220
Round 6 Pick 18: TJ LOGAN, RB, North Carolina 5'9, 196
Round 7 Pick 1: CJ BEATHARD, QB- Iowa 6'2, 220

I like this too.

I am down with trading with the Panthers, especially if we can net the return you stated. I also like that we'll still get an elite player at 8, whether it be Hooker, or Adams, or Foster. If one of those 3 are there at 8, then we made out nice, in still getting a very good player that we need, and adding picks this year plus a 1st round pick next year.
Round 1 Pick 2: MALIK HOOKER, FS, OSU 6'2, 205
Round 2 Pick 2: EVAN ENGRAM, TE, OLE MISS 6'3, 239
Round 3 Pick 2: RYAN ANDERSON, ALABAMA 6'2, 255
Round 4 Pick 2: JOSH REYNOLDS, WR, Texas A&M 6'3, 195
Round 4 Pick 36 (COMP): DONTA FOREMAN, RB, Texas 6'1, 249
Round 5 Pick 2: JOE MATHIS, DE, Washington 6'2, 255
Round 5 Pick 17: STEVIE TUIKOLOVATU, DT, Southern California 6'1, 335
Round 6 Pick 14: JEREMY CLARK, CB, Michigan 6'3, 220
Round 6 Pick 18: TJ LOGAN, RB, North Carolina 5'9, 196
Round 7 Pick 1: CJ BEATHARD, QB- Iowa 6'2, 220
