Really like alot of elements in this mock. I've had 3 draft crushes since day 1: Mahomes, Hooker, McC. Before I talk about one of them becoming a Niner, let's look at the rest of your picks:
Edge at 34. Yes, yes, yes, yes, and more yes. This is the ideal spot to be taking an Edge. I could not agree more. You prefer Willis, I prefer Lawson, but in the end, who cares? I don't. Willis is awesome, and would step right in at a position of huge need and impact. Get an Edge here – you did.
Peterman at 66. Completely agree here. Last I checked we're rolling out Hoyer on Day 1. We need to be drafting and developing QBs until we find our guy, and then we need to keep on drafting and developing QBs so that we become the factory we used to be. How does that start, by drafting a damn QB – who just so happens to fit exactly what we're looking for. I have a concern about his arm strength, but again, 3rd round pick for, at worst, a solid backup QB that we develop going forward.
WR in 4th. Could not agree more on the value here. Again, yes! There will be stud WRs available here. Carlos would thrive in our O, and Shanny needs toys – currently, our toy box is a tad depressing.
Big Fat 2-gapping Run-Stuffing NT in the 4th. For the love of God Lynch, please get us one of these. "Smart" pick.
WR in the 5th. Oh look, another toy. And this one is 6'3 230 lbs. Uh, yes.
CB in 5th. Athlete still developing at the position. 6'1 and has a decent vert. We need more guys like this.
OG in the 6th. I recently (about a few days ago) developed a mile love affair with Levin. I was looking at OGs we interviewed, and where they were slotted to go, and his value late is terrific. I agree that he'd fit right into what we're going to be asking our OL. He easily makes the roster, and at the minimum, develops into a backup OL guy. Great pick.
Jones in the 7th. Tremendous value. The guy still reminds me of his haunting destruction he laid on to my beloved Lobos a couple of years ago, and if he's a Niner, my workplace offers therapy – I may have to enroll. Another toy for Shanny.
Chuck Clark. Who? Love it. We need depth and competition at the back end of our D. Good find, and good spreading of the draft love.
And, as for McC at 2. IDGAF. If we take this guy, then Shanny must've been banging the table for him, and coupled with my draft crush for McC, I'd be completely fine with the pick. Like I've said many times, come out in 12 personnel and then find the mismatch and exploit the fuk out of it. Run it, Go 5 wide, and everything in between. Good luck D. We get a true 4 down player, and a slot WR for 3 wide. Another toy, and this one is shiny. Talk to me in three years, after he's put up his second 1,000/1,000 season, and ask me again about "value".
Nice, nice job.
And, yes, you know it's coming:
(Would've been even better with Hooker though).

Does this mock have us getting him at 2?
This. Solid job overall.

Perfect Phoenix. I think McCaffery is the guy too. I thought Fornette made sense but was hesitant because hes mostly a bell cow. McCaffery is much more than that, complete offensive weapon. I wouldnt be surprised if McCaffery is our leading receiver in next few years.
Pass rush in the 2nd. Great. QB to groom cool. Would like a WR in 1st 3 rounds. Perhaps they trade back in?

Willis isn't at the top of my mud for LEO but could live with it.
Sorry bud Willis is a monster. I'd take him over any leo prospect in the 2nd and it's not even close. Not close on paper, film or combine... And his motor is top of the line

Mccaf is a 1st down making machine if qb is on par.
Peterman? My philosophy is only draft qb in top 100 if he has nfc championship potential. Nah, aint feeling this pick; hoyer type.

Was it mayock whom compared mccaf to westbrook?
Suspect idea. Westbrook better rb. Mccaf should forget most of the ball carrier duties--he is a stone cold stud of a receiver, and should define himself as such.

Plain and simple, McCaffrey is an OW to go with Kyle Juszczyk. Shanahan would have a field day scheming this player open and Hoyer wouldn't break a sweat throwing short and watching him RAC up the YAC. You can line him up everywhere. I'm not one to get hung up on "value" and this is one of those picks that throws it right out the window and says, "f**k it! The way I can use this player is endless...THAT'S my value!"
You know I love the Willis and Peterman picks! Those are two picks for crucial roles on this team both as a potential Elephant and FQB...kind of big deals. I love the Wilson pick too...another system-fit outside CB to pair with Robinson. Now, go get your big-bodied ZWR in Davis. The nice thing about that size and catching radius is that you can start him from day 1 and he can grow WHILE he plays and will still being an integral part of the offense (i.e. security blanket for the QB, good run blocker, RZ threat, etc.) --- learning the full route tree and how to run precise routes can be taught/learned.
The rest are nice chess pieces and developmental growth with real talent and interest by our FO.
I see 4 potential starting players right out of the gate (1.7 more than the NFL average).
Well done Phoenix.
I agree with Command, if you believe on a player and McCaffrey is it, then you go for it, and that's your value!!

Great overall but if we can trade back a few picks and land McCaff and another 3rd round pick or so, I'd be too excited
