Evolving Dream 2020 Offseason

I feel this draft had it's strong points and weak points. A lot of draftable talent will be signed as UDFA. Updated first post with hindsight shadow draft. 2020 needs: OT, OG, CB, S. R1 target: Alaric Jackson

Last year, I was only in love with 2 guaranteed first round prospects: Nick Bosa and Brian Burns. There was enough percieved depth in the middle rounds to be confident in a guy like Dalton Risner, or Mecole Hardman, or Tytus Howard, or Deebo Samuel, or Justin Layne, or Emmanuel Hall being available to have.

So far, this year, not the case. Soooo many draft crushes. It's bad for me, but I love Juedy and Ettienne.

That kid Wirfs looks like a HOFer

He's got some issues, but he's got time to clean em up, and he's a physical specimen. I like Alaric Jackson more, but doubt the NFL agrees

Yeah I watched as much film on him as I could find. His footwork is a little sloppy but he's insanely strong and violent. Kinda like MM. I think he'd be perfect for us.
Staley getting an extension means my mock needs to change a bit.

2020 FA
Byron Jones, CB
Christian Westerman, IOL

2020 Draft
Trade: 2020 3rd, 2020 5th, 2021 5th for 2020 2nd
2020 4th, 2020 7th, 2021 3rd for 2020 3rd
2020 6th, Richard Sherman for 2020 4th
R1: Tyler Biadasz, C
R2: Jalen Reagor, WR
R3: Paulson Adebo, CB
R4: Alton Robinson, ER
R7: TBA

2021 FA
Haason Reddick, WLB

2021 Draft
R1: Foster Sarell, OT
R2: Pat Freiermuth, TE
R4: PK
R6: TBA
R7: TBA

Notes: Replacing Sherman with Jones is an upgrade given Sherman's age. Adebo is a promising prospect to put behind Jones and Witherspoon, or to replace Witherspoon if he doesn't develop as I am currently expecting him to. A WR corps of Pettis (x), Reager (z), and Deebo (slot) with Hurd as an all around chess piece (x,slot,y,HB) is a very fine looking and versatile corps. OL upgraded in a major way with the additions of Biadasz and Westerman, and Staley extension gives us time to wait for a 1st round OT. Need another nickel ER in case of injury to Bosa or Ford, and Robinson should fill the roll nicely. Pat Freiermuth opposite Kittle should be unstoppable. 4th is high for a place kicker, but we've been very fortunate to have such good kickers the past few years, and with so little holes on paper, it's worth over spending to keep that trend going.

With these additions, on paper:
DL: Elite
LB: Average to above average
CB: Above average
S: Average (above average if healthy and Moore is as good as expected)

OL: Above average
WR: Above average to elite
RB: Above average to elite
TE: Elite
QB: Above average

Scenario 2 would be my choice, I'd love to replace Goodwin with Reagor and have a trio or Pettis, Deebo and Reagor, would be sick.. also love the Jackson and Jones picks, free agency would be great to land Jones and Westerman, both I loved and wanted the niners to draft.
FA:
Byron Jones, CB
Christian Westerman, IOL
Damiere Byrd, WR

Trade:
2021 3rd, Richard Sherman for 2020 3rd
2020 5th, Nick Mullens for 2020 2nd

Draft:
R1: Paulson Adebo, CB
R2: Jalen Reagor, WR
R3: Alaric Jackson, OL
R3: Alex Leatherwood, OL
R4: Antoine Brooks Jr, S
R6: Carter Coughlin, ER
R7: Netane Muti, SWING

2021:
R1: Creed Humphrey, C
R2: Rondale Moore, WR
R4: Pat Freiermuth, TE

Get value for Sherman while it's there, and both upgrade and get younger at CB with Jones and Adebo. Glaring weakness is instantly a strength. Alaric and Alex are both multipositional along the OL; both start as an immediate upgrade at guard, and the better of the two ideally moves to tackle when Staley hangs em up. Moore is the future at FS, and so we draft Antoine hoping for the future at box safety. We have a plethora of talent behind Bosa at big end, but Coughlin has the chance to be a viable depth piece behind ford, and we need that given the injury concern. Ezzard has a chance to stick as a deep threat, and Muti takes a recovering Shon Coleman's spot as OL6, with a chance to compete at keeping our two second day picks at guard. I'm a Westerman truther, and while I've soured on him a bit as an NFL player vs when he was a prospect, still has a chance to serve as better depth than what we have currently. In 2021 we get our center of the future. Deebo, Pettis, and Reagor as the big trio pushes Hurd to more of an "offensive weapon" of which his positional flexibility will still provide him plenty of snaps, and us with plenty of production.

If everyone, including Jimmy G, pan out, our offensive weapons with Jimmy behind a line of Staley, Jackson, Humphrey, Leatherwood, McGlinchey (and solid depth behind them) has a chance to do real damage this far into Shanny's installation of the offense. Revamped secondary behind our stacked front 7, and we may be Superbowl bound!

Of course that's if everyone works out.

Deebo and Adebo?!?!
Forget it, trade everything for ammunition in 2021 and tank for Lawrence. Kidding... Partially.

Lawrence still has a way to go. Developmentally I mean. Let's leave the tanking to Miami, by the time Lawrence comes out we will be in contention and a country mile away from the No. 1 pick.

Just a deliberate preseason overreaction
