We'll see how that turns out, but I'd think a streamlined JG could be beastly and fit nicely into Shanahan's offense. Nothing not to like with Roquon Smith. I've heard notions of Willis-Bowman II and if that would happen it'd really solidify the LB corps for years. That said, I'd have to go with Bradley Chubb, who looks like the true pass rusher we don't have now. Don't know much about Braden Smith, but I do know he was part of an OL that went toe-to-toe w/'Bama and won. Definitely has the athleticism Shanahan wants. I'd take a WR at #3...Simmie Cobbs would be outstanding, but if he's not available, there are a number of good-sized WR's to choose from. Teller's definitely an intriguing prospect...another very athletic guy Shanahan would love. Between the FA acquisitions and this draft, I'd say pretty solid at this early date. I wonder if Lynch might sign a WR and a CB...two costly positions, but both ones he needs to acquire for Shanahan. I was thinking Devante Adams, Jarvis Landry kind of guys.
People keep bringing up Chubb because he's the top DE but I dont think he fits the Elephant/Leo mold at all.
Dante Fowler. Vic Beasley. Chris Clemons/Bruce Irvin/Cliff Avril. Bradley Chubb. One of these is not like the others.
Not fast enough for LEO, too big for SAM.
I think he is far more of a Michael Bennett type, a strongside DE at the next level, something that the 49ers already have Solomon Thomas for. Having both of them on the same roster would be pretty redundant IMO which is while I think that he'll be a good pass rusher in the NFL, it will be for some other team. Plus I think Davenport fits that explosive edge rusher role a whole lot better than Chubb.
