Yay Area's 2nd Mock of the Season

Resign: Eric Reid, Carlos Hyde, Brock Coyle, Brandon Fusco
FA: Ryan Jensen, Allen Robinson, EJ Gaines, Prince Amukamara, Cody Latimer

SF 1st - Traded to Indianapolis. They move up for Saquan Barkley. We pick up their 2017 2nd and a 2018 4th
IN 1st - Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia. Speedy playmaking linebacker to pair with Foster.
IN 2nd - Braden Smith, OG, Auburn. Perfect fit for line. Can come in and start right away
NO 2nd - Ronald Jones, RB, USC. Speedy RB to pair with Hyde and Breida
SF 3rd - Simmie Cobbs, WR, Indiana. Great combo of size, speed, and route running. Need some bigger targets in the WR core
CHI 3rd - Alex Cappa, OT, Humboldt State. Developmental tackle that can learn behind Staley.
PIT 4th - Marquis Haynes, DE/OLB, Mississippi St. One trick pony. He is a great pass rusher and not much else. He slips due to that and his size.
NYJ 5th - Hercules Mata'afa, DE/OLB, Washington State. Basically the same description as Haynes. Another designated pass rusher type.
SF 6th - Jamal Peters, CB, Mississippi St. - At 6 foot 2, he is a big cornerback, adept at press coverage.
SF 7th - Derrick Baity, CB, Kentucky. Another big cornerback at 6 foot 3, who should fit our scheme.
KC 7th - Matt Linehan, QB, Idaho. From a pro-style that Shanahan values.

I feel like this free agency and draft would solve many of our needs. It solidifies the oline. It provides more weapons on offense, including a few larger targets for Garappolo. And it provides a few pass rushers and corners which are always needed.

Good targets. I'll offer my critiques for fun.

If we sign Robinson in FA, I don't think Cobbs (whom I love) is necessary. Rather go for someone like Dante Pettis to eventually be a Garcon replacement, or a move TE.

If we are targeting Ronald Jones II, I think we should and would let Hyde go. Jones will be a feature back at the next level; Breida will spell him.

I agree that Hercules Mata'afa will go lower in the draft than most members on this board think. I don't, however, think he falls to the 5th.

I'd be very happy with this draft, Really like the bolded players! I still need to figure out some of the deeper level DB's so i dont know much about Peters and Baity to comment. I want to grab a RB but I feel that 2nd is too high, I'd rather get another impact player TE/WR or CB/S and grab one in the 3rd/4th. But the plan boosts our O-line, pass rush, WR weapons, great stuff!
Nice mock. Some good free agent picks also there

We need a line and Playmakers on offense. Lb is secondary to all. Malcom Smith will be back. And be good, he has been in this defense. I see you solved the line added a corner which is needed. But going into the season with Garcon and Goodwin, and Hyde will not be an improvement.

Not sure you actually read the mocks lol. I see you post in every mock draft thread, but your posts make no sense, lol.

He added Allen Robinson and Simmie Cobbs Jr. at WR and Ronald Jones II at RB

Oh I read them. I guess I don't think those guys are playmakers in the nfl
didnt really address LEO. Other than O-line, LEO should be priority.

You are correct. I didn't address it earlier on in the draft. But later on, I project us taking two guys, Hercules Mata'afa and Marquis Haynes, that both have a lot of potential as LEO's or designated pass rushers.
