Another Mock Offseason (LONG)

Free Agent Signings:

DE- Demarcus Lawrence (DAL) 6'3, 265
One of the best DE's in the league. 13.5 sacks on the season and multiple disruptive plays. A line of Lawrence, Buckner and Thomas could some real damage. We make him the highest paid DE in the league over Olivier Vernon and the most guaranteed money over JJ Watt. Dallas has 25 mil in cap space but I don't think they are going to be able to afford him.
5 years, 90 million. 55 guaranteed.

OC- Weston Richburg (NYG) 6'4, 300
Smart, athletic and one of the best pass blocking centers in the league. Immediate upgrade for our Oline looking to protect our QB
5 years, 27 million. 14 guaranteed

WR- Allen Robinson (Jak) 6'3, 211
He takes a one year prove it deal like Alshon Jeffery did to play with Jimmy G. He could immediately slot in as our #1 and give us a fearsome group with Robinson-Garcon-Goodwin-Taylor and give us a nice red zone weapon.
1 year, 10 million, 5 guaranteed.

CB- Jonathan Joseph (Houston) 5'11, 200
Experienced vet. Brings stability to a young secondary. Still able to play at a high level.
2 years, 13 million, 7 guaranteed.

RB- Alfred Morris (Dallas) 5'9, 200
Had 2900 yards rushing in 2 years with Shanahan in Washington. Ideal backup for a young RB.
2 years, 4 million

C- Ben Garland (ATL) 6'4, 300
3 years, 6 million

DRAFT:
*Im going into the draft looking for Oline help as well as a RB starter in a very deep RB draft and a pass rushing SAM LB and a young CB.

1.6- Connor Williams, OT, Texas
Height: 6'5. Weight: 320.
NFL Comparison: Lane Johnson, PHI
https://youtu.be/_TkkaNad3Ss
Allowed just four quarterback pressures (one sack, three hurries) on 956 snaps. Absolutely dominant pass blocker but equally adept at run blocking. Future All-Pro Left Tackle who will start his career at LG learning from Joe Staley or he could start at RT if Trent Brown isn't healthy.

2.34- Traded to NE for Jimmy Garrapolo

2.56- Damien Harris, RB, Alabama
Height: 5'11. Weight: 220
NFL comparison: Michael 'The Burner Turner

Elite vision. Elite speed. When he hits the secondary he is gone. Ideal RB for an outside zone scheme. No hesitation and hits the hole hard. Averaged a rediculous 7.3 YPC against the best defenses in the Nation and and if he was the only back Alabama he would be a 1st round pick. Pass protection needs polishing but this guy has a chance to be a top back in the league. He is a hard worker and a great team-mate.

3.68- Tyquan Lewis, OLB, Ohio State
Height: 6'3. Weight: 260
NFL comparison: Ahmad Brooks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz9RFkZP4UU&feature=youtu.be
Powerful Edge rusher. Strogn bull rush. Able to set and hold his edge in run support. Experienced and smart. 107 tackles, 35 for loss and 22.5 sacks in his career.

3.70- Devron Davis, CB, USTA
Height: 6'0. Weight: 210.
NFL comparison: Damarious Randall, GB
https://youtu.be/f_7OOxU5U1E
Tough, physical CB. Hard hitter. Not afraid to mix it up in run D. 3 INT and 11 passes defended in 2 years. Could be moved to safety as well.

4.128- Dalton Risner, RT, Kansas St
Height: 6'5. Weight: 300.
Smart and mobile. Started his career at center. One year starter at RT. Lots of upside.

5-.132- Damon Webb, CB/S, Ohio State
Height: 5'11. Weight: 195
Great senior season with 56 tackles, 4 INT, ans 3 PD. Experienced and versatile.

Well done. Well thought out. I'd be ecstatic if we can address a few plug and play starters in free agency. Especially at critical positions like Leo, CB or anywhere on the O Line. I'm not gonna be negative on the likelihood of the signings. But it's a bit optimistic I'll say. We obviously have the financial ability to address our needs as we see fit. I'm not big on Connor Williams that high. But I also am not confident we'll be able to trade down as is widely talked about. Regardless of position I believe we need to take the very best player available anywhere in the top 10. I don't expect us to be drafting this high going forward. I expect 2 maybe 3 QB's to go top 10. Otherwise I believe Chubb, Fitzpatrick, Key, Nelson, Barkley, and James all to be better overall prospects then Williams. With the caveat that LT is a premium position. So I truly understand your stance. In the 2nd Harris is another guy I'm not as high on as some. I've lived in bama and followed bama diligently the last 6 years. To me this is the worst running team they've had in that span. The other prospects at RB that we're more highly ranked haven't had much lasting success. I see the 2nd as a prime round to grab a RB. Overall our needs are addressed well. Good job man

Appreciate the feedback.

I am hoping the newfound success of our team with Jimmy will attract some free agents. And as you said we have the money.

I love Quenton Nelson but I highly doubt Shanahan takes a guard that high but you never know. I think there is ZERO chance we draft Barkley. Not with the surplus of backs available this year.

Chubb is a great prospect but I'm hoping we sign a LEO so we don't go Dline in the draft 4 years in a row. That would be absurd. So Key is out as well.

I like Fitzpatrick and James but unless Lynch thinks Fitz can play CB I doubt we take him. I think the team is high on Colbert.

We need to address the Oline and I think Connor Williams is a building block type lineman.

I appreciate the Alabama comments. I just really like Harris but I thought about switching him and Tyquon Lewis and look to the 3rd for our RB in such a deep draft.

1.6-  Connor Williams, OT, Texas
2.34- Traded to NE for Jimmy Garrapolo
2.56- Tyquan Lewis, OLB, Ohio State
3.68- Damien Harris, RB, Alabama
3.70- Devron Davis, CB, USTA

We desperately need a SAM and a RB and thankfully this is an extremely deep draft for both positions.
I appreciate the thought that went into this. There are a lot of choices I wouldn't have made, but the whole thought process and the presentation were excellent!
Vastly improved roster.

I think we can do better in that spot than Tyquan Lewis, and our cap space sure went away in a hurry, but you can't argue with the talent acquired with your player selections.
I'd rather Ronald Jones then Damien Harris, not familiar with the CB you took, biggest miss is not getting another LB to challenge Smith..but I like your free agents and don't mind Williams in the 1st bc O-Line is a must fix this offseason..
Conor Williams that high
If the Niners are going to go that route early, would much rather have Nelson at OG who appears to be more of a sure thing. Agree with Jersey about Ronald Jones. Just don't know how Harris would work in the passing game.

Like your first three free agents, but think we could do better than an aging Joseph, Morris and a second C with the amount of money we have rolling over.
I think we pick up Terrell Pryor and Allen Robinson. Pryor will be very cheap bc he was not used in WAS, but he can be a #1. Those 2 guys with Goodwin....watchout
I love your FA offseason. I'd be pretty happy if it turned out this way all said.
Williams at #10-12 is a great pick.
