Mock offseason-Jimmy GQ effect

I believe Jimmy wants to win and win now. He has leverage as do the 49ers. I don't believe he'll squeeze us for more years or dollars. But I think he's gonna wanna see them commit some money elsewhere. Protection, weapons and a contender will be what he wants to commit to longterm.

Resign- Reid, Hyde(if we don't upgrade), Kilgore, Coyle, Fusco, Gilliam, Carradine, Jimmy G

These are all modest contracts with backup money except Reid, Hyde and Jimmy

Free Agent Signings
Andrew Norwell OG Panthers-5/50 22 guaranteed
Westin Richburg OC Giants 3/18 8 guaranteed
Malcolm Butler CB Patriots 4/52 25 guaranteed
Allen Robinson WR Jaguars 2/25 10 guaranteed incentives and basically team option year 2.

Draft- we enter draft having addressed all major needs except Leo and Sam.

Trades- trade #9 or 10 to Buffalo for 22 and 24.

Draft
1-22 Josh Jackson CB Iowa- in this offseason our DB's become a team strength.
1-24 Marcus Davenport DE UTSA- physical freak and conference POY. The future at Leo
2- Braden Smith OG Auburn- competes with Garnett at guard and can backup at tackle
3- Marcel Ateman WR Ok State- big bodied receiver complements what we have. Creates competition for backend roster spots
3- Sony Michel RB Georgia- my favorite college RB still playing. Depth at RB. Need several throughout a year
4-BPA
5-BPA
6-BPA
7-BPA
7-BPA

Josh Jackson will be drafted in the top 20.

I would be OK with it, but I don't think Jackson gets to pick #22 anyway. And Davenport is becoming the worst kept secret in this draft. Don't think he drops that far if he has a good Combine and Pro day workout.

Id love this
Who do you have Buffalo trading up for? Lamar Jackson possibly at that spot?
I think the Bills will trade for Alex Smith so they won't trade up to draft a QB.

Wow hummer, who's your insider?

It's overkill at CB, WR, RB, and offensive line. It's turning a weakness into a strength. It's accounting for injuries and rookies not being Ready Day 1. The contracts of incoming free agents can be released after year 2 or 3 without liability. I'd like to see another pass rusher drafted late in this scenario as well
Mocks are wishful. Jackson and Davenport at 22 and 24 is that
.

LOL ESPN and it makes sense. Although after seeing Bortles also today I wouldn't be surprised if Jacksonville tries to trade for him.
Only thing id complain about is signing Malcolm Butler, I'm not sure he fits the scheme where Lynch and Saleh like tall long fast CBs but that's where Jackson comes in if drafted so no need for Butler, sign a vet to a good deal to back up our outside starters..other then that I love it, great job..

Bruh what defensive coach doesn't like tall long fast corners?
