So, it seems pretty obvious what our area of weakness is...the OL...still giving up sacks, hits and pressures at an alarming rate no matter who's at QB.

i agree. #1 priority should be keeping garappolo clean and healthy. If he could pick apart a defense with a turnstile O-line, who 4/5 probably wont be starting in 2018, imagine what he could do with a top 5 O-line. He would be unstoppable.

Exactly. Also, more routes will be open just because of the extra time that JG has to throw.
The cowboys dominate oline, hows that doing for their defense and playoff runs?
If you take any guard over a playmaker at 9, please suffocate yourself in a cat litter box.
You can draft excellent tackles early, but a guard you can find at your local meat market.

Not any worse than the 7 picks on defense they made in the most recent draft.

The after Garoppolo sack number (8 in 5 games) is 27th most, or 6th best in the league over that timeframe. It was actually a dramatic improvement as well.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a top quality guard to keep him upright whether he's thrown the ball or not
Sure get your guard after round one or in FA.
One of us in these forums can go a month of eating just pork rinds and Wendy's bacon burgers and become a good guard.

Tell Laken Tomlinson to get a Wendy's sponsorship ASAP. I know you're trolling, but common man. Let's have some at least DECENT conversation here.
Alright, don't take a guard at 9/10. That's not trolling.

True, but the Colts' phone would ring off the hook if this happened, no way they get Rosen or Darnold at #4

Technically lets say Midwest takes Darnold... I woulda took Barkley if hes there(#4).. So its probably a wash anyhoot

Thats how i have my personal top 5 going. I got Chubb at #3 to Colts doe

Sounds like you'd be a fine candidate come spring time. People who don't understand the mechanics in the trenches and what that means for a stud QB don't know football. If Nelson wasn't in the draft, sure let's go elsewhere. He's a rare talent however. Best interior olineman I've seen in the draft since Travis Frederick. BPA meets the hole in the roster.

smh, dude watches "The Blindside" and suddenly he knows the value of olinemen.

Nelson over Smith?

Time to recruit 4 new members.

Yes 100% Nelson over Smith. Best lineman in the draft. Over an undersized lb. We have no need for more stingers

That doesn't mean the line got better LOL. Just because we have a quarterback that actually knows how to move in the pocket doesn't mean we don't improve a terrible offensive line.

Bout to pay Jimmy $25M, before FA.. I'll choose to protect him ;)

I'd be ok going pass rusher in 1st even though we drafted 3 DL in a row. We can't take Roquan Smith an ILB with our last top 10 pick in the next decade. We have foster and paid smith starter money for a reason. Smith would only be a consideration over Nelson if we signed a guard and center in free agency. I still might take Nelson over Smith. Positional value, need, strategy. Several needs Trump ILB and there will be players at all of them in the top 10. Leo, CB, OG, WR
