9moons 2018 mock w/no TRADES

NO TRADE DRAFT
1) Cleveland - Saquon Barkley; RB - Penn State (Torn between Allen and Darnold, the Browns take Barkley and let other teams settle the QB debate)
2) NY Giants - Sam Darnold; QB - USC (Bottom line is that he's just not a finished product to go first overall, so the Giants will allow him to learn behind Eli)
3) Indy - Bradley Chubb; DE - NC State (Lets face it, the demise of the Colts also started when Freeney and Mathis got old all of a sudden)
4) Cleveland - Josh Allen; QB - Wyoming (The Browns still feel that they ended up w/the QB that they really wanted)
5) Denver - Quenton Nelson; OG - Notre Dame (Whether Cousins is the new QB or not, he's gonna need a protector)
6) NY Jets - Josh Rosen; QB - UCLA (Josh has always been the Jets choice and fully believe that he could be the ROSEN one)
7) Tampa Bay - Tremaine Edmunds; OLB - Vtech (Tampa did not take long to draft who they believe is the best defender in the draft)
8) Chicago - Roquan Smith; ILB - Georgia (The Bears are in hope that The Roq can lead back The Monsters of the Midway)
9) Oakland - Minkah Fitzpatrick; FS - Alabama (Chucky's first move, to make the secondary a very athletic bunch)
10) SF 49ers - Marcus Davenport; DE - UTSA (Lynch can say that he's got his front four)
11) Miami - Baker Mayfield; QB - Oklahoma (It is what it is, and the Taneyhill Project is coming to an end)
12) Cincy - Vita Vea; DT - Washington (Coach Lewis just couldn't believe that Vea's still available)
13) Washington - Calvin Ridley; WR - Alabama (Just in case Prior isn't the WR the team hope him to be)
14) Green Bay - Denzel Ward; CB - Ohio State (The best way to help a weak pass rush is to have a very good cover men)
15) Arizona - Orlando Brown; OT - Oklahoma (Investing on a QB would be a bad idea if one can not protect the investment)
16) Baltimore - Lamar Jackson; QB - Louisville (The Ravens are in hope that Lamar will be ready by the time Flacco gives it up)
17) San Diego - Derwin James; FS - FSU (Just like the Raiders, this group must really need to become athletic if they want to compete)
18) Seattle - Sony Michel; RB - Georgia (Pete Carroll and his crew can argue that Michel was the best player in last year's BCS Championship)
19) Dallas - Harold Landry; DE - Boston College (Pass rusher is what they need and pass rusher is what they're going to get)
Wouldn't be mad
If Cleveland doesn't take a QB at #1, I almost guarantee someone will trade up to Indy's spot ahead of the Browns.
I'll be anxious to see how Davenport performs at the combine. I'm hopIng he blows it up.

This is a set of circumstances, that if Davenport flops at the combine, in which the niners would probably be fielding a ton calls from Arizona and Buffalo to move up ahead of Miami for Mayfield.

Most of your picks are entirely plausible.
Derwin james at 17?

LOL Never gonna happen. Wont make it out of the top 10. If he is there when the 49ers pick, Lynch will run that pick to the podium himself.

Just wait till you see this kids combine. He is f**king legit likely the best player to come out of this draft when all said and done.
a bit iffy about Darwin.. really am.... and it scares me to say that he may just be a WORKOUT WARRIOR...

What do you base that assessment on? Have you watched any of his film? he is the farthest thing from a work out warrior you can get. He has tape after tape of dominate play for two seasons. Again, the only reason he is not legit a top 5 pick is because of the torn meniscus, but anyone who watched his film last season knows he got back to 100% about mid season and resumed his dominate play. He was actually almost better in coverage coming off the injury then he was as a freshman.

I heard NY say something similar to this, and it truly boggles my mind. James is not a workout warrior, although he does have insane work ethic. He is the truth, and he shows it over and over in his tape. His measurable are just gravvy.

How are you and James related? I see a great athlete with holes in his game. First round potential maybe, but a real reach in the top of the first.

I really cant take any grades seriously from you into the future if you have a late first round "maybe" grade on James. I really cant. It tells me 100% you are not grading him on any viewing of his film, and simply want to discredit any hype he maybe has for your own reasons.

No scout in their right mind has a late first round "maybe" grade on James lol. None. He is a sure thing top 10 pick, and will be the first DB taken. Book it.

My assessment is based on what I saw (6x) on TV last season. I do feel that he's a first rounder, but I just don't feel he's THAT "sure" top 10 type of player..

I see no team from 6 to 10 that would take him over Minkah... and even if both he and Minkah gets drafted top 10, that would be a super reach.

Then between 10 to 15, it's the perfect spot where a talent like Darwin can get lost by teams' need.

again, I like the guy and his talent, I just do not see him gettin drafted between 6 to 10.
Weakest position in free agency 2018 DE, 49ers will draft Harold Landry from Boston College in 1st Rd and Nick Chubb in 2nd rd. 3rd Rd ilb and cb
4th Center
The only way we take Landry at 9 is when all three - The Roq; Edmunds; Davenport are no longer there.... I would even trade down a bit (towards 13) and still expect to see Landry..

as for Chubb (RB), I rather take Penny.... and if both aren't there... give me the kid from Notre Dame (WR - St Brown )!!

I like Isiah Oliver in the 3rd... and would not mind drafting a Center in the 4th..
