Yay Area's 2018 Mock Offseason (Version 3)

Resign: Eric Reid, Brock Coyle, Brandon Fusco
FA: Trumaine Johnson, Prince Amukamara, Avery Williamson, Donte Moncrief, Trey Burton

SF 1st - Traded to the LA Chargers. They move up for one of the QBs. We pick up their 2018 2nd and a 2018 5th.
LA 1st - Harold Landry, DE, Boston College. Speedy edge rusher to boost our past rush.
LA 2nd - James Daniels, OC, Iowa. Perfect fit for line. Can come in and immediately push Kilgore for the starting position.
NO 2nd - Ronald Jones, RB, USC. Ronald Jones, RB, USC. Speedy RB to pair with Williams and Breida
SF 3rd - Braden Smith, OG, Auburn. With his athleticism, he is another perfect fit for the line.
CHI 3rd - Simmie Cobbs, WR, Indiana. Great combo of size, speed, and route running. Need some bigger targets in the WR core
PIT 4th - Alex Cappa, OT, Humboldt State. Developmental tackle that can learn behind Staley.
LA 5th - Marquis Haynes, DE/OLB, Mississippi St. One trick pony. He is a great pass rusher and not much else. He slips due to that and his size.
NYJ 5th - Jack Cichy, LB, Wisconsin. Lynch pulls a Baalke on an ACL player. He is definitely one that would be worth it if he can recover.
SF 6th - Kalen Ballage, RB, Arizona State. Big back that could complement Ronald Jones and be a successful pass catcher out of the backfield .
SF 7th - Derrick Baity, CB, Kentucky. Another big cornerback at 6 foot 3, who should fit our scheme.
KC 7th - Matt Linehan, QB, Idaho. From a pro-style that Shanahan values.

This free agency and draft would provide solid competition and potential starters all over field. The defensive backfield is greatly improved with Johnson and Amukamara playing alongside Witherspoon. The additional pieces along the offensive line will fight for playing time and at the very least set us up for the future. This improved oline and the variety of additional weapons on offense will help Shanahan and Garappolo take our offensive to the next level.

One of my favorite mocks. Particularly, the re-signings (Reid should stay), two CBs and Williamson in FA, and your ER and OL priorities in the draft. If Landry is gone at #17, would you select Davenport or someone else. It's unclear Landry or Davenport will last until 17. I'd also like to see at least one OL in FA. Good work.
Great mock! you have some of my favorites in here.

love that you revitalized the O-line. Pick up a starting center and guard, and a future OT that can play G if need be. All fit the ZBS!

Simmie Cobbs is one of my favorite WRs in the draft.

Landry is my favorite ER in the draft also!

Jones is the second coming of Jamal Charles.
That is a good offseason. Double down on all the major needs at WR, Leo, interior OL and RB. Decent trade and no major reaches in the draft. Well done, yay!
I like it too. Solid work. All very good players. Wonder if Cobb is too early and Ballage a little late. Also, you have the niners extending Hyde? So they'll have Hyde, Ballage, Jones, Williams, Breida, McNichols, that's a lot of mouths to feed,
Not a fan of Moncrief or Prince. I don't think they would duplicate some of those positions, because it would be tough to keep everyone on the 53 and you would end up serving some guys up to be picked up by other teams.

Dont mind it. I like both Trumaine and Prince. Burton is an underrated player but I'm not sure we need another H-Back type. Draft looks great---i like Landry quite a bit and Daniels looks to be a future pro bowl center. Ronald Jones is one of the best schematic and talent fits for our offense. Cobbs is a great redzone target but I'm not sure he's got that much upside. Cappa is also a favorite of mine. Overall i'd be ecstatic with this.

Davenport would be my second choice if Landry isn't available. And if neither are available, well that kinda screws up the whole draft haha. But I would probably go with Rashaan Evans. He could play alongside Foster and Smith, as well as provide cover/backup if Foster continues to struggle with off field issues.

Regarding Hyde, I forgot to edit the Ronald Jones writeup before submitting. This is corrected now. I don't have the Niners extending him.

That assumes we have a solid 53 and I don't agree with that premise. The Niners roster is a long way from the Harbaugh years. Shanahan turned over the roster quite a bit, but we still have a long way to go if you ask me. So I think adding starter quality players through free agency and the draft and creating the element of competition will force the cream to rise to the top. If that means we lose people on the 53 or from the practice squad, that we would otherwise like to keep, so be it.
