Zeke Mock 3/25 using MadDog's 150 board

Ok. So I have been pounding the table for Roquan over Harold Landry at #9. But this never meant I didn't like Landry, and only that I think Roquan is clear BPA over Landry in that spot, and that Landry's value is in the teens somewhere, MadDog has him at 19. I put some time into this, so I hope you all would like a draft like this.

So here we go....

We trade back from #9 to #17 and pick up a 2nd rounder #49

1 - 17. Harold Landry DE/OLB - I like Landry here a lot better than at 9, plus we get an extra 2nd which will be used to trade up for our second selection. We need pass rush and while I love Roquan, I'm very happy with Landry + an extra 2nd rounder.

2 - 36. Rashaan Evans MLB - Right where MadDog has him on the 150 board. Would love to get him here. We trade #49 and #74 for #36 and #100. This guy is just a beast in the middle and a physical, violent player like Salelynch likes. Foster insurance as well and his buddy from Alabama.

2 - 49. TRADED

2 - 59. Frank Ragnow C/OG - Love this guy. Can play G or C at an elite level and competes for LG starter immediately and is the instant backup to Richburg if he gets hurt.

3 - 70. Rashaad Penny RB - Good value here and is our short yardage back and gets a lot of carries on 1st and 2nd downs. If he is not available here, substitute Royce Freeman. Either way, we get our bigger back here.

3 - 74. TRADED

4 - 100. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo LB - MadDog has him right here at 99 on his board. Double up on pass rushers here and gives Landry some competition as well. Landry, OO, Marsh, and Attaochu gives us some decent talent and depth in the pass rush area

4 -128. Quentin Meeks CB - Makes a lot of sense here. Stanford guy, tall, and just ran a 4.53 at his pro day so he has enough speed. Sherman can take him under his wing and teach him how to excel in this scheme. If Sherman isn't ready to go week 1, Meeks gets thrown into the fire and gets some valuable experience until Sherman is ready.

5 -143. Dorian O'Daniel LB - Depth at the WILL behind Malcom Smith and we also met with him recently so we have interest in him. According to his profile... "Madman on special teams. Finished career with 48 special teams tackles and most of them in kick coverage. Has a gift for playing past kick return blocks and maintaining focus on the returner. Technically sound as tackler." This is a great trait for a late 4th rounder and initially a depth player at LB; he will help on special teams immediately.

5 - 184. Daurice Fountain WR - Had a good Senior Bowl week with good speed. Was hard to cover. Bring him in can play special teams and give Bourne some competition.

7 - 223. Javon Wims WR - 6'4 215lbs with good size and played well for Georgia in their run-heavy offense. Give him a shot here and create camp competition between Bourne, Fountain, and Wims. Best between Wims and Fountain make the roster, and the other to the practice squad.

7 - 240. BPA or use as trade up sweetener for one of these guys above in the later rounds.

If Foster returns, on base downs we would have:

Thomas - Mitchell - Buckner - Landry
-----Foster - Evans - Okoronkwo------

On nickel downs:

Okoronkwo - Thomas - Buckner - Landry
--------------Foster - Evans--------------------

Thoughts?

I'd cry if the draft fell that way.

Cry in a good way :)

Nice work!
Landry and Evans. Immediate starters.

Penny, Ragnow, OO, Meeks and O'Daniel. Critical depth at positions of need.

One of the best drafts I have seen.
Very well thought out. I like it.

The real question is whether you will find trading partners agreeable to the trades you mention. But certainly would be a very good draft---- in the unlikely event things worked out.
How'd we end up with 3 4th round picks?? 🤔

Traded #49 and #74 in exchange for #36 and #100. We already had two 4th rounders to begin with.
Nice.. Like the 2 WR at the end for some good comp in camp.... Man I can't wait!

Oh right....fixed. Thanks for that. Doesn't affect the picks but good to be accurate.
