We will make a 3 primary draft day trades:
1. Trade down from #9 for the Bills #12, 3rd rd via CLE, and a 2019 4th round pick. Bills trade up for Baker Mayfield. It's a cheap trade up vs. the Jets trade, and allows the Bills to continue their rebuild vs. trading up to #2. For the 49ers, we get the #1 pick in R3, and a new pick in 2019.
2. Trade our 2nd (via NO) and 4th (via PIT) to move up for the Chiefs 2nd round pick. This will help leapfrog some teams to get a highly desirable prospect for our scheme.
3. Trade our 3rd round pick for a team looking to move up and secure a Day 2 QB to groom - Chargers. We get their 3rd and 4th round draft picks, regaining the lost 4th in the previous trade.
NFL Draft:
R1: Harold Landry - DE/LB - Boston College | SAM on base, LEO on passing downs. He's an ideal scheme fit and projects as a Beasley/Irvin type.
R2: Braden Smith - T/G - Auburn | Crazy combine numbers, I see Smith being a strong starter at RT or RG in our scheme. Two birds, one stone pick.
R3: Uchenna Nwosu - EDGE - USC | Could also play SAM, but I'd love to see him attack at EDGE from either DE spot. Beefs up our pass rush.
R3: Chris Herdon - TE - Miami | In the mold of a Walker/Burton/Reed type TE, Herdon adds another weapon to Shanahan's scheme.
R3: Holton Hill - CB - Texas | 6-3, 4.5 speed. He's the PERFECT scheme fit and developmental prospect to learn behind Sherman.
R4: Oren Burks - LB - Vanderbilt | 4.5 speed with excellent height and frame. Former safety that should thrive in the WILL role.
R5: Javon Wims - WR - Georgia | I love his height, speed, and hands. He could be a hidden gem with JG at QB. Should be a solid ST gunner as well.
R6: Andre Chachere - CB - San Jose St. | A CB/S prospect that converts to FS in our scheme now that Ward is moving to CB.
R7: Kyle Bosch - C - WVU | Developmental prospect for both G and C. Ideal height to handle NFC West interior DL.
R7: Byron Pringle - WR - Kansas St. | Wild card prospect but worth the risk here. Competes for the last WR spot.

Landry at 19 is good value at pos of need. Smith at G is a good scheme fit and good possibility he starts by end of season. Like Nwosu and he and Landry push each other. Hill is the ideal kind of developmental prospect that Sherman can groom.
Liking this.

great job geek! I do think the Nwoso pick is a little overkill at the position but if you feel he is a difference maker, why not
Filled all the needs and empty depth positions. I am a really big fan of Burks. Our future WLB.
Holton will is also a guy i really like. With Sherman teaching him, he could become quite the contributor in his rookie year

Thanks. Nwoso may be overkill but Attaochu is too big of a question mark to remain healthy for the year. Assume you lose him 8 games in, then you are basically dependent on Landry and Marsh at both DE spots on passing downs.
Looking at the Eagles, there's no such thing as overkill for pass rush.

I like turning a weakness like pass rush into a potential strength. I'd be a little worried about our LB's because Foster will no doubt be suspended but can't fix everything. Really nice job!

I wouldn't worry about the LB situation too much. We should have high confidence that Coyle can spot start if Foster is suspended. And there's plenty of 2 down LBs available in FA still - Derrick Johnson, Kevin Minter, and even Bowman. So if Foster is suspended, we can easily snag a guy like Johnson as a interm depth solution.
LB: Landry/Pita
LB: Coyle/Johnson/Lee (SUSP - Foster)
LB: Smith/Burks
Additionally, we'd only be in that formation for 1-2 downs. For our 4-2-5 scheme, we could easily bring Tartt or Reed down to play LB and fill the Foster void.

Love your first 3 picks especially Braden Smith. I think he is ideal for what Shanahan wants from his tackles.
Not sure we spend a high pick on Hill who has character issues. After the Reuben Foster debacle this off-season I think we steer clear of those kind of guys.

Yeah Hill is a risky pick, but it'd be much more calculated vs. Williams or Foster. Swap Hill for Meeks if you are that concerned, but I think Hill will be fine in the NFL.
