Here it goes:
Niners trade pick #9 to Chargers for #17 and #48. Chargers jump ahead of both Miami and Washington to select Vita Vea, making their defensive front terrifying.
R1, #17: Harold Landry, EDGE, BC. Instantly improves the weakest aspect of this defense. I have seen Landry mocked anywhere from #14 to GB down to Tennessee at #25. IMO he is here at 17.
R2, #48: Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn. Disruptive corner with good size and length. Could be great fit and eventual Sherman replacement.
R2, #59: Braden Smith, OG, Auburn. Started 41 consecutive games at Auburn. One of top performers at combine for OL.
R3, #70: Jerome Baker, LB, Ohio State. WILL, great speed and rare athleticism for the position. Sideline to sideline LB who can cover.
R3, #74: Equanimeous St. Brown, WR, Notre Dame. Big, tall WR with 4.48 speed. Some additional weaponry for JG at receiver position, especially in red zone.
R4, #128: Tegray Scales, LB, Indiana. Possible SAM with great instincts, intelligence, and motor. Very productive at Indiana.
R5, #143, Alex Cappa, OL, Humboldt State. Developmental player who could play either G or T.
R6, #184, Josh Adams, RB, Notre Dame. Depth at RB this year pushes Adams down. Big, physical downhill runner. Averaged 7.2 ypc at ND (does help to have 2 first rounders on the OL) also added 41 receptions over his career at ND. One fumble in 3 seasons at Notre Dame. Trailed only Penny in elusiveness rating according to PFF. Averaged 5.0 yards after contact, best in the draft by a half-yard.
R7, #223, Kameron Kelly, DB, SDSU. Not sure he falls this far, had a pretty bad combine. Has good size (6'2", 200) and is versatile. Physical defender who played both CB and S at SDSU.
R7, #240, Daurice Fountain, WR, Northern Iowa. Small School prospect. Explosive athlete. Very good week at East Wet Shrine game.
