*no trades- don't feel like going down that road at this point (we will trade plenty though)
1st- Harold Landry LEO, BC - No surprise here people. I have Smith as 1B (before anyone flips out lol) Like I've stated over and over and over, we don't hit the QB currently and lost our best pass rusher. 30th in the league on getting off the field on 3rd down. Landry makes everyone on that defense better period.
*private visit and combine interview 5th overall in SPARQ score
2nd- Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis- He's my 2nd rated WR in this class. Dude is strong, quick, one of the best route-runners, and probably the best blockers as well. He can double catch balls, his 40 isn't eye popping (plays faster) and his injuries will knock him back a little. He get's separation and can high point the ball. Get Kyle rolling with him!
3rd-Fred Warner, LB, BYU- Love this kid! He's kind of confusing because of where BYU played him, but he has the range and reactionary quickness of a starting off-ball linebacker. Great football character and his talent really showed at the Senior Bowl.
*PV workout and met at the SB. 10th overall SPARQ score
3rd-Quenton Meeks, CB, Stanford- I think this is the sweet spot for him. Had a solid combine and is a very smart football player. Has the overall size you want for this scheme. He's a bit stiff and IMO is only a fit for certain schemes.
*pro-day visit and local day 5th overall in SPARQ score 93.9 percentile
4th-Brian O'Neill, OT, Pittsburgh- This might be a reach based on how poor this OT class is (might be gone), but this is where he should go IMO. He's king of the underwear Olympics and is smooth out in space. He needs to work on his technique in pass-pro (was awful at the SB). He needs some serious coaching and needs to learn behind Staley. He's athletic which will push him up the boards.
*private visit 8th overall in SPARQ score 84th percentile
5th-Colby Gossett, OG, Appalachian State- Ideal fit for ZBS, he's a nasty finisher and he looked solid in pass pro drills at the SB BUT has to learn the nuisances of it. We got three former 1st rd pick OGs and I think they will be the starters day 1....give Gossett a yr to learn.
6th-Tarvarus McFadden, CB, FSU - Production was nonexistent this yr. His lack of speed was a HUGE issue, and the combine backed it up. Still he's that ideal height/length prospect SF loves at CB.
*private visit
7th-Foye Oluokun, LB, Yale- Athletic freak and that's who you go after at this point in the draft. When you see any film of him you can tell he's the best player on the field. He can fly sideline to sideline but will have issues taking on blocks shedding them.
*private visit. 8th overall SPARQ score
7th-Jordan Wilkins, RB, Old Miss- Great fit for outside zone, good balance and vision. can catch the ball. runs upright and isn't a burner. SF will draft a RB every single yr IMO.
There we go...we've all gone back and forth on who we want and why. I think we get some solid players in this mock along with some guys with traits that can be taken advantage upon and they could develop into quality players for us
