In year three of the rebuild, pressure will mount on Shanalynch to make some moves. This scenario gets us some big names, while also protecting the future.
Trade
Trade 2019 and 2020 2nd round picks for Antonio Brown. To me, this is the max offer, and essentially the equivalent of a 1st round pick. I think going in, we try and offer less but it will eventually come to this to make it happen.
Free Agency
1. Sign Earl – He can single handedly have the biggest impact of any FA who will be available this offseason. He has pre-built chemistry with Sherman and will be motivated to stick it to the Hawks. Recent reports say the Cowboys won't be big players in FA so this is possible.
2. Sign Brandon Graham – This guy can come in and immediately start at LEO, taking some of the pressure off a rookie. He's solid against the run, and gets consistent pressure. If his price gets too high, I'd be willing to move down the priority list and go with a guy like Shaq Barrett. Regardless, we need to get 1 edge in FA.
Draft
Given the acquisitions of Brown, Thomas, and Graham, priorities in the draft become another premium edge rusher, and a WILL LB. Secondary needs include OT, CB, and TE. I could also see us target a late round Guard to groom for the future.
I still think there is a remote chance that Bosa falls to 2, and I think we need to keep the pick until draft day, just in case that is the scenario. If Bosa goes 1, we hold an auction for the top QB on the board. In this scenario, I trade #2 to Jacksonville for #7, their 2nd and 4th rounders this year, and their 2nd rounder next year. That essentially replenishes all of the picks we gave up for Brown (plus some), while only dropping down 5 spots.
Round 1, Pick 7 – Brian Burns EDGE
This guy has been a favorite of mine most of the year, and when all is said and done, I think this is the right spot for him. I don't think he lasts past pick #9 given that I expect him to come into the combine over 250 LB. This guy has the full arsenal of what you want from a top-flight pass rusher. Year one, we can limit him to passing downs ala Aldon's first year. Ultimately, this guy will take over for Graham in a year or two as a starter at LEO.
Round 2, Pick 6 – Dalton Risner OT / OG
Some may balk at this, as many consider him a 1st rounder, this guy feels like someone who drops to the 2nd round due to concerns about him having to move inside. I personally think he can stick at RT down the road, and his ability to move inside is a bonus for us, as he can compete at guard his first year or two before kicking outside once Staley retires.
Round 3, Pick 3 – Vosean Joseph WLB
Would be a nice fit as a WLB in this scheme where he can fly around and make tackles, and will hold up in coverage,
Round 4, Pick 2 – Jace Sternberger TE
Has the size and athleticism to create mismatches opposite Kittle. Needs some work with his route running but that will come.
Round 4, Pick 7 – Trayvon Mullen CB
Was projected to go higher before the year started, but I think this guy falls down to the 4th round, and becomes another developmental project as a big corner.
Round 6, Pick 3 – Christian Miller SAM
Don't think this guy will test particularly well, which could drop him down, but I could see him as a valuable contributor at SAM. He sets a good edge and can rush the passer from time to time.
Round 6, Pick 38 – Adam Holtorf G
Developmental interior lineman who could be a good fit in a zone scheme

Nice job, but I want the jags 1st next year, no way whoever trades up doesn't give a 1st next year, I think their 1st and 2nd this year and their 1st next year for our number 2 is what I'd expect, like your free agents definitely, 1st two picks I like, rather Pratt then Joseph, and there is no way Mullen falls to the 4th, would be awesome tho if so lol

Would u ask for linebacker Telvin Smith in trade with Jaguars?? Risner is great pick. Can play inside or out. Would prefer to pickup Tyrell Williams as FA receiver. Younger and way less expensive.

A top ten pick should always start year 1.

Love the offseason but not sure Brown is worth 2 2nd rounders especially with ours being close to a first rounder on its own.
Steelers don't have a ton of leverage.

I can't see burns ever being elite in our system with his size
