I think most people aren't knocking your trades(though it's hard to see what the trades actually net us)
The issue is trading down and then not even addressing our BIGGEST need which is outside pass rusher. White wouldn't be a bad addition but that will not improve our team like an outside pass rusher who can kill opposing QBs.
Look at the Bears and the step forward they took with Khalil Mack. Even when we had Willis the defense didn't take that huge step forward until we got Aldon Smith...and yes you can make a case it was the same year Bowman became a starter but Takeo Spikes while not on his level wasn't a slouch but without that outside rusher the defense wasn't playing to its potential.
Plus it's much easier to find a pretty good linebacker later in the draft than a dominant pass rusher.
