Kriz mock #2

Typically, i let the masses get in my head and try to mock what I think the people want. I'm done doing that. I'm mocking what want.

Release: Mitchell, Garcon (option decline), Smith
Resign: Gould, Pinion, Holba, Mabin, Lee, Mostert

Free Agency is chalk full of LB talent. Will they all actually hit the market? in my world they do.

Free Agency:Jordan Hicks - LB Eagles
Landon Collins - S NYG (not expected to be tagged)
Darius Philon-NT SD

None of these free agents "sacrifice our future for the present" but sure helps the present in a way we'd all love.

TRADE:Solomon Thomas plus comp pick to the Patroits for #74. Rich get richer. Pats can either decide not to resign Flowers and/or Malcolm Brown
while getting a cheap replacement still on rookie deal. With Blair, Street, Day, Thomas is expendable.

With Bosa on the board we don't trade down in the 1st. but day 2 we are ACTIVE
Draft trade: #36 to CLE for #48, #80
Draft trade: #98 to DEN for #107, 146

#2 Nick Bosa

#48 Erik McCoy. G/C TAMU.it's time we upgrade this OL. McCoy can start off at guard until ready to over at C.

#67 D'Andre Walker SAM, Georgia, great at setting the edge and experiece dropping in coverage. Good pass rush moves but not a true bender.

#74 Michael Jackson CB, MIA after 15 straight IDL in the 1st. we go with our 15th straight 3rd round CB

#80 Emanuel Hall WR, Missouri, Release and RR reminds me of Pettis but with Goodwin deep Speed. This is the one guy i kept trying to change to a WR that most talk about. But I see a taller faster Dante Pettis here.

#107 Dru Samia, OG, OKLA,

#146 Isaac Nauta, TE Georgia Another receiving threat at TE that is an adequate blocker. With the way Kyle calls plays. No reason he can't be on the field 50% which would be on par with how he called plays the past 2 years. But now we have threats out there.

#163 Gary Jennings WR, WVU Another great RR that can work all levels of the field. He's able to fill in at any WR position if an injury occurs

Comp pick: TradedNone of the big body big name guys that the mass craves. However, we add 2 good Route runners that get easy separation
and both can work all three levels. With their ability to separate, they should easily help our WR corp.
Nauta adds another threat as a TE2. While also adding speed at that position. Adds a little insurance if something happens to Kittle.
Collins is more of a strong safety. We need that FS.

Love any mock that has us getting Bosa but trading Thomas doesn't make sense with your signings and draft. Blair and Street aren't DTs really. The idea is to put Thomas inside this year by bringing in someone like Bosa to play outside. Street, Blair, Taylor and possibly Armstead or FA would play Big end on the other side.

Overall I'd be pretty disappointed in this offseason but kudos to you for putting it together.

Not sure what you are saying. All 4 guys you named can play inside on passing just as Thomas is being said to do. Not sure if you are pooking at where they've been used compared to how they can be used.

As you said bringing in an outside guy like Bosa also frees them up to kick inside on passing downs.

As for Collins, he is a two high safety. While ill give you, he may not have the range as an ideal single high safety. I think he is closer to that than you are giving him credit. But besides that, we really need a FS & SS.

Bosa could be done in two years. He's had two huge injuries in less than 3 years

The difference is Thomas should be nearly a full time DT. Blair, Street and the other guys can play inside but are better off playing big end on early downs then getting rotated out on pass downs. They should not be inside more times than not. So I'm saying you're trading away someone who has yet to sniff his potential and someone who can be a pretty good player inside for guys who shouldn't play there outside of a handful of snaps per game. I didn't include Day in that list but I'd rather have him as a backup.

Unless we're drafting Quinnen Williams trading Thomas would seem like an odd move when this year may finally be the year he gets to play inside where he's much more impactful with more consistency.

Where im confused is where exactly you think thomas is playing inside full time.

Between Bosa, Buckner, Armstead only other spot is Mitchell's NT spot. You surely aren't expecting him there are you?
Finally see someone else say that Bosa is injury prone. Both knee and a core injuries ended his season. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.ninersnation.com/platform/amp/2019/2/11/18218045/nfl-draft-rumors-2019-nick-bosa-injury-concerns&ved=2ahUKEwjPpfbC683gAhVj_4MKHfLrD5wQFjAPegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw1wqI2-qGOXIYv7-SmveqaO&ampcf=1

Bro less than 3 years 2 season ending injuries. That's a major concern
Bosa is perfect fit for what niners need but those 2 injuries make u wonder how will he be healthy??

I'm expecting us to be in nickel more times than not next year so yes inside next to Buckner. He played out there in non nickel alignments last year and didn't get bowled over so the idea that he can't play inside along with Buck is flawed.

Mitchell won't be on the team next year so it's not even his spot anymore. We can also move Buckner outside here and there similar to what the Jags did with Campbell.

Either way I think moving him with the offseason you're suggesting would be a mistake but guess we'll see.

Only one injury ended his season for medical reasons (knee). He could have played late in the season with the core injury, he just chose to prepare for the draft.
Krizay...well done. I like the outside the box thinking here coupled with a little luck. You have a great feel for team needs.
