Yay Area's Mid-Season Mock Draft

The job Lynch, Peters, and Shanahan have done rebuilding this roster has been quite impressive. There are not a lot of holes on the 53 man roster. The way Brunskill and Skule have developed and performed while Staley and McGlinchey have been out is exhibit number one. But there are some areas that could use more depth, and some positions where the 49ers need to start looking at potential successors. So here is how my draft plays out:

Trade our 1st, one of our 5th, and one of our 7th for Atlanta's two 2nd rounders, who trade up for one of the top remaining edge pass rushers.

2 – Hakeem Adeniji, OG, Kansas. Mobile, athletic, 6'4'' 300 lineman, who is perfect for our zone blocking scheme. He has played some tackle, but is likely a guard in the NFL.

2 - Terrell Lewis, DE/OLB, Alabama. Lewis has good size at 6'5'', 255 lbs. He is quick, and has lots of potential as a pass rusher. Injuries took him out much of the last two years, and have knocked down his draft position and sapped some of his athleticism. But he has rebounded this year, leading the SEC in sacks. Solid depth behind Bosa and Ford.

3 – AJ Terrell, CB, Clemson. Solid athletic, good size at 6'1'', 190 lbs. Willing to stick his nose in and make tackles.

5 – Traded

5 - Dezmon Patmon, WR, Washington State. 6'4'', 225 lbs. Speed and ability to separate is in question, but he is a size mismatch that we don't currently have in our WR group.

6 – Charlie Taumaupenu, FB/TE, Portland State. 6'3'', 245 lbs. Best TE/H-Back in the FCS. Good route runner, sneaky speed. Good insurance for Kyle Juszczyk, possibly developing into a player similar to Delanie Walker.

7 - Traded

7 – Josh Brown, OT, College of Idaho. Small school, diamond in the rough. 6'7'', 305 lbs. Dual sport athlete, as he is part of the school's Track and Field team. He won conference titles for shot-put and discus.

Nice mock. I definitely want to trade back to gain more picks

Like the players, but think that Lynch will hold onto the late rounders (5th and 7th) and just trade down from the late first for a 2nd and a late 3rd. Will leave the Niners with 7 total picks.
