MBA's 2020 Mock Draft Ver 3.0 Pre Combine and Free Agency edition

After a disappointing ending to the season, the Niners roster is still one of the best in the NFL with a great mix of young talent and veteran leadership. I agree with GEEK that the Niners will need to recoup some of the picks they used to acquire Dee Ford and Emanuel Sanders. There are about 5 teams with multiple picks on day two so the Niners will trade down with a team who is looking to get a 5th year option on an additional pick. The player ratings are based on the CBS Sports prospect rankings as of today. This is not a full offseason plan including free agent signings, but I will make some assumptions about who stays and who goes.

The Niners don't have any glaring needs but here are the major changes to the roster that I can foresee. As of today, I think the Niners will try to keep Armstead for one more year with the franchise tag. Marquise Goodwin will be cut for salary cap purposes. Ward, Sanders, Kittle, DJ Jones and Buckner will be re-signed to extensions. That leaves the following needs to be addressed in the draft:

Round 5 Pick 177 Jeremy Chinn S Southern Illinois - small school playmaker in every aspect who has recorded at least three interceptions and five pass deflections in every season during his career
Round 6 Pick 190 Alex Highsmith Edge Charlotte - edge rusher to either replace Blair or just bolster the pass rush
Round 7 Pick 194 Antonio Gibson WR Memphis - Deebo 2.0; hybrid WR/RB

He does highlight a lot of prospects. He and OTC are good for that sort of thing.

I'm seeing Ruiz higher in other ranking and Mims lower. But I like both picks.

After only one day of the Combine, my mock is kind of messed up. There is no way Antonio Gibson lasts until the seventh round after his blistering 40 time and good overall workout. Mims may also not last until the second round based on his great workout numbers. Wilcox also had a bad day in Indy so I will have to look into another backup TE or maybe address another position that late. Good thing none of this is real.
