NYniner85 post-combine mock

Yeah Ruiz is a day 1 starter for us. upgrade. Pittman is just a good football player

Also like the Highsmith and Evans picks. Evans in particular looks like a Shanny back that would come in and light it up in our system with his speed.

I like Stone as well. He's has a really good instincts. He fits this scheme and at the very least a ST baller with upside.

First mock of the yr.... because of our amazing run this yr, I've been in overdrive with draft analyzing (my mock is a mixture of what I would like and what they might do).

Off season plans:

extend/resign/restructure:

AA-He will at the very least be tagged. I could see a 3 yr deal (a little cheaper now) giving him time to double dip while he's still in his prime.
Buck- He will get paid bank. No way around it. reliable and just a really damn good player. He's a guy I can see SF constantly restructuring to give them cap space (meaning they have no issues with keeping him on the team forever).
Tartt extend-Lowers the cap this yr. He's a good SS and knows this defense.
Juice extend-Juice makes the run game go. He also lowers the cap this yr. No reason to wait it out.
Jerick McKinnon-Restructure his contract to near nothing with incentives. He's not gonna get anything on the open market might as well show SF why they gave him that cash.
**Kittle he's gonna be a Niner for a long time BUT because of the CBA and how he's gonna reset the TE market...his agent might wait things out. Either way he's not going anywhere.

Cut/don't resign/trade:

Sanders-Love to have him stay. I don't think they can swing it though. Unless he takes a massive pay cut they should let him walk (sucks I know).
Ward-I think he will also command more cash then we want to pay. Look for him to the Browns with Joe Woods. I'm more than fine letting Moore get starter snaps at FS (possibly adding competition in the draft or FA).
Marquise Goodwin- Trade, still has elite speed and teams love that. Either a late day 3 pick or bundle him in a trade during the draft.
Tevin Coleman cut-team option for like $5M, see ya later.
Mark Nzeocha cut-team option for like $1.5M see ya.
Solomon Thomas trade-sell him for a bag of chips. Save about $4M.

FA:

I got nothing here lol. Only thing I can see happening is if a older vet get's cut and wants to pop on a championship caliber team for not a ton of cash

Draft

I won't be shocked if they move down a couple times (like Seattle did)…..

#31 trade** Miami moves up to get a OT that's still left on the board (Jones/Jackson) SF get's 39 and 70. They get 31 and 157.

#39 trade** Colts move up for either a WR/QB and they give up pick 122.

#44-Cesar Ruiz C/G Michigan- Best IOL prospect. He might not be here BUT there's just better overall prospects IMO. Powerful and athletic and is a day 1 starter at RG.
Maurkice Pouncey is my comp. IOL upgraded.

#70 Michael Pittman Jr. WR USC- We could probably move down from here and still get him. I loved what I saw from him on film and I wanted to wait to see his numbers at the combine. He put up great numbers. Great hands/monster catch radius/good ball-skills. Very good deep ball catcher. He's not a burner (which is what we truly need) BUT he's damn good WR overall. Great in the RZ, loves to block and play ST
my comp is Allen Robinson

#122 Michael Ojemudia CB Iowa- Has size to play CB in this scheme. He ran a 4.45 which was his knock (speed). He's a scheme specific zone coverage DB. They didn't play much man at Iowa. He's very smart/savvy with good anticipation. He's ideal for C3.
comp Joshua Jackson/Tre Flowers.

#177Alex Highsmith EDGE Charlotte-Killed it vs subpar OTs. Has speed to power. He's a nickel edge rusher with good speed/bend. He would be that wide 9 burner good depth/rotation.
I don't really have a comp for him I have seen Markus Golden.

#210 Darrynton Evans appalachian state RB- They will always add a RB in the off season. Moving on from Coleman creates a hole. Appalachian State is a heavy OZ running team. This kid is a one-cut burner. RB late is the way to go.

#218 Geno Stone S Iowa- Not an amazing athlete and poor measurables YET he's always around the ball. Great in zone coverage. He's just a football player and will start on ST at the very least IMO.

First of a couple more mocks....

what ya'll think?

I don't think Evans is going to last that long, FYI. As far as I've seen, he's considered a top 10 RB in this class.

Scheme specific RBs drop.

I could throw. I do think SF could move down from that 70th pick (Pittman) and still get Pittman and a extra 5th.

Yeah but I'm not so sure every team is going to label him scheme specific or that a guy this talented and hyped would make it all the way to the sixth. Could understand if he was under the radar, but he's pretty well known among the scouting community.

I mean, at the end of the day, anythings possible, just my opinion that he's gone before then.

I've seen him ranked 115th (TDN) and CBS has him 217th.

We will see
I've reconsidered and I'd be pretty psyched with this. Not sure if Ruiz will fall but if we can get those guys it will help for sure.

there we go!

I wouldn't be shocked if SF could move down at 70 and still get Pittman. End of the day IMO this would be a haul.
Like Darrynton Evans at #210. He might be a nice fit

I think he would be ideal we've met with him and he fits the scheme perfectly. Maybe he's available maybe not. I do expect SF to add a RB this off season. They do every yr.
I like your free agency decision and trades. Michael Pittman at 70 is my one complaint. I honestly don't think he'll go in the 3rd at all. But there are starters to be had at pick 70. I believe he could potentially contribute as a backup but don't see him as a Shanahan guy or particularly a great fit for our offense. Has many of the skills Jalen Hurd has without the positional flexibility. I've seen him on big board near the 70 mark but I think he falls past there. I'd prefer Chase Claypool, Van Jefferson, and Donovan People Jones over Pittman but 70 might be a bit rich for all 4 prospects except DPJ. But I'm biased I've taken Pittman at 138 in 100 simulations.

Pittman literally checked every box from a combine measurable standpoint that kyle looks for.

He can play in the slot or outside (Hurd can't play outside at this pt). He's a solid route-runner. Has some of the best hands in the draft. Has no issue being physical or blocking. He's all football and will also play STs. IMO he fits the locker room and Lynch played with his dad.

I want no part of Claypool. I want no part DPJ. I do like Jefferson BUT he's gonna be 24 by the time the season starts and he can't make plays when there's any contact. Pittman is the opposite of that.
