What a season for us in 2019, don't think anyone of us could have guessed how close we would get to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. No reason we can't run it back and get back there next season. My focus for the Defense is to keep our Front 7 intact and add a playmaker in the secondary. For offense, we can use an upgrade on the interior line and add some speed to the wideout positions. Let me know what you guys think.

Players Re-Signed/Extended
Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, George Kittle, Kyle Juszczyk, Jaquiski Tartt, Ronald Blair III, Kendrick Bourne, Ben Garland, Daniel Brunskill, Nick Mullens, Matt Breida and Jeff Wilson Jr

Players Cut/Not Re-Signed
WR Emmanuel Sanders
FS Jimmie Ward
RB Jerick McKinnon and Tevin Coleman
LB Mark Nzeocha

Free Agency
WR Taylor Gabriel - 2 year deal - Gabriel brings the veteran presence to the WR's and he knows the Shanahan offense. Much cheaper option than Sanders (obviously not as talented) and can stretch the field and makes plays after the catch.

Trades
49ers trade #31 overall to the Indianapolis Colts for #44 and #75 overall
49ers trade WR Marquise Goodwin and #139 overall to Pittsburgh Steelers for #127 overall

NFL Draft
2nd Round #44 Overall (via Colts) - S Antoine Winfield Jr Minnesota - I like Jimmie Ward and think Moore is an ok option, Winfield Jr is a guy who can transform the secondary. Dude is in the right place at the right time to make game changing plays, grew up in NFL locker rooms and I think could step in almost immediately at FS.

3rd Round #75 Overall (via Colts) - OL Matt Hennessy Temple - Hennessy can push Person for the RG position immediately and long term will be McGlinchey's sidekick.

4th Round #127 Overall (via Steelers) - EDGE Khalid Kareem Notre Dame - We have already met with Kareem, he has great initial burst but needs to work on his pass rush moves, we have ourselves a good d-line coach and watch guys like Bosa and Ford on the EDGE will help his development.

5th Round #159 Overall - WR Devin Duvernay Texas - My later round draft crush this year. RAC ability is his best strength, lethal on slant routes and breaks tackles, ran a 4.39 40 at the combine and had big time college production in 2019 he had 106 receptions for 1386 yards and 9 TD's. I believe we met with him at the Combine or Senior Bowl so there is interest.

6th Round #191 Overall - RB Darrynton Evans App State - Trendy late round pick here and for good reason. Will be another classic late round RB to thrive under Shanahan.

7th Round #195 Overall - TE Charlie Taumoepeau Portland State - Performed well in agility tests at the combine, has a chance to compete with Dwelley in TC and Pre-Season.

7th Round #223 Overall - DL Darrion Daniels Nebraska - Depth at interior DL, competition and backup for guys coming back from injury (DJ Jones and Juliann Taylor)
Very good and realistic mock. The only move I would like to see different is instead of Gabriel I would like to see Robby Anderson. He has youth and fits the position very well for there scheme. Overall a very good mock
That is a great mock and offseason plan. Nothing much to say or question.
Very realistic mock!

I'm not in the draft a S early crowd and I'm not sure Winfield is a true single-high FS. I bet lynch will love him though. I do need to watch more of him. Health is a concern.

I like Duvernay as well would be cool to see how kyle would use both him and Deebo. I do think he'd just a slot WR at the next level though. He had issues beating press at the SB and rarely saw it at Texas.

Overall good job.

Anderson is gonna cost like $13M a yr. SF can't afford that unfortunately...also not sure he's a lock room fit. Like the skill set though

Nice mock. A few thoughts:

- Is Winfield BPA at that spot or are you drafting him based on need?
- If we resign Blair, what's the advantage of having Kareem? Kareem, Solly, Street, Taylor - it's a log jam of similar types. Are you mocking a Solly trade?
- Very worried about our RB depth with Mostert and Breida as the primaries. Why cut Coleman and McKinnon? I think one, if not both, stay for TC.

I like Winfield Jr probably a lot more than others. Think he is a legit playmaker in the secondary that we are lacking.

Kareem is more in the mold of Dee Ford with a lethal burst, but lacks pass rush nuance. Blair III is a good overall DE, Solly will be gone by 2021 and Street is a total unknown.

I think having Mostert, Breida, Evans and Wilson Jr would suffice but I understand the concern

Thanks man. I definitely went with "my guys" specifically Winfield Jr and Duvernay. I'm probably higher on them than most.

Appreciate the feedback NY!
