Crocker's Mock

I think we can get a better return on 31 then 54 and 86

Probably can...Draft Network mock draft machine is very tough to do trade downs that are fair. You usually have to throw stuff in to make it fair.

If you go by the NFL Draft pick value chart, this trade is way lopsided against the Niners (-15%). Definitely would not be a good trade. There are plenty of other draft partners the Niners can dance with.

That said, like the Jeudy and Hennessy picks early and the two CB's late. Don't know if Claypool position switch is the right way to go. Still a solid mock.

This. I wouldn't do that trade. Going down from 31 to 54 is a long way.

Last year's draft trades

Colts traded #26 to redskins for #46 and a 2020 2nd

Rams gave up 31 and a 6th to Falcons for 45 and 79

2018 Eagles give up 32 and a 4th to Balt for 52, a 4th and a 2nd in 2019.

Some of you always want a king's ransom but that's not how it works.

Even if it was fair by the book value and other teams have done similar trades in the past. I don't care I am not doing that trade. giving up a 1st rounder with a 5th year option to move down 23 spots for a mid to late 3rd round pick just doesn't do it for me. I understand people like the idea of drafting 3 great players instead of just two but your just as likely to end up with 1 great player and two scrubs instead of drafting two great players. The colts draft example you gave is a perfect example of what i am talking about. They could have drafted Montez Sweat who went with that very pick along with a ton of other better players who they could have drafted before the 20 picks they moved down from instead they end up with Ben Banogu for a grand total of 2.5 sacks his rookie year. This team needs great impact players not players who struggle to see the field. Yes, If you have a ton of equally graded people at that point by all means trade down But I think a lot of people want us to trade down just because we have less picks this year, not thinking about the fact that we could be passing on a pro bowl talent for two average players. Sorry for the rant, this is just my opinion.

Very fair point. But Montez Sweat sitting behind Sheard and Houston instead of playing alongside Payne and Allen likely would have led to Banogu kind of numbers
Dolphins 39 and 70
Jaguars 42 and 73
Detroit 35 and 67
