Final Mock Plan - Detailed

Assumptions:
- Early run on tackles creates opportunity for the 49ers
- Lower risk tolerance for flagged prospects (e.g. medical, off-field)
- 49ers will be active trade partners to acquire more picks at #13 and #31

NFL Draft:

CIN: Burrows - QB - LSU | No question.
WAS: Young - DE - Ohio St | Elevates an already talented DL.
MIA: Herbert - QB - Oregon *trade* | Arm talent + cleaner medical vs. Tua. DET gets a 2nd and a day 3 pick for moving back.
NYG: Thomas - T - Georgia | He's the best pure tackle in this draft. Don't overthink it.
DET: Okudah - CB - Ohio St (via MIA) | Judgment call between Okudah and Simmons, but the greater need is at DB right now.
CLE: Wirfs - T/G - Iowa *trade* | Leapfrogging ARI to get their man for the offensive line. CLE gives up their 2nd, but get back a 4th in this trade.
LV: Lamb - WR - Oklahoma *trade* | CAR moves back to collect more picks. LV gives up a 3rd and 4th to secure their WR #1 on their board.
ARI: Becton - T | Simmons could be the pick here, but Keim invests in the OL to protect Murray, allowing him to better utilize Hopkins in the passing game.
JAX: Simmons - LB | Luck strikes twice - Allen last year, Simmons this year. They will look to trade up for DT or CB with their other 1st rounder.
LAC: Tua - QB - Alabama (via CLE) | The Chargers trade back, acquire more draft assets, and still get their new franchise QB. Additional picks to help Tua.
NYJ: Jeudy - WR - Alabama | Wills or Jeudy makes sense here. I personally would invest in OL, but I think the Jets add a weapon to supercharge their offense.
CAR: Brown - DT - Auburn (via LV) | Instantly beefs up their defensive line with this selection. It's their target pick all along - even with the trade down.
TB: Wills - T - Alabama *trade* | SF switches spots with TB, getting an extra 3rd, and trading Goodwin in the process. Wills + Goodwin for Brady is a good combo.

49ers Draft:

R1: Henry Ruggs - WR/KR - Alabama (via TB)
- Elite speed that thrives in space, Shanahan now has another chess piece in his war chest.

*49ers trade #31 and #177 for Broncos #46 and #83 (via PIT). Assuming DEN selected Henderson - CB with their first rounder, they trade up for Aiyuk - WR.

R2: Robert Hunt - G/T - UL (via DEN)
- Right guard and tackle prospect that will compete with Brunskill and Compton for the starting spot at RG. Powerful and athletic, Hunt would provide OL stability.

R3: Bryce Hall - CB - Virginia (via TB)
- Obvious pick here because he's a great scheme fit and value selection at this spot. Will fight for a starting spot in 2020.

R3: Bradlee Anae - EDGE - Utah (via DEN via PIT)
- Speed off the edge is vital in Saleh's scheme, and we saw that when Ford was out. Great first step and blend of speed/power. Possible replacement for Ford.

*49ers trade Matt Breida and 7th rd for Falcons 4th round draft pick. A Gurley-Breida 1-2 punch helps balance their offense. They still have another 4th rd pick

R4: McTelvin Agim - DT/DE - Arkansas (via ATL)
- Credit goes to Phoenix49ers on this selection. Watched more of his film - added weight to play DT his senior year and did not disappoint.

R5: Stephen Sullivan - TE - LSU (via DEN)
- His story reminds me of Kittle. Team first, under-utilized, pro-ready. He'd be the perfect #2 to Kittle. A bit of an overdraft, but his combine moves him up.

R6: Dezmon Patton - WR - Washington St.
- Reminds me a lot of St. Brown of the Packers that was drafted in the 6th last year. H/W/S guy. Needs to be more of a dog on the field.

R7:Jake Hanson - C - Oregon (via DET)
- West coast guy that has the measures that Shanny likes. Reserve or PS player that could develop into a serviceable vet.

Post-Draft Roster Moves:

Extend - Kittle
Release - D. Johnson
Sign - "Snacks" Harrison (DT, DET)

Projected 53 Man Depth Chart:

QB: Garoppolo/Mullens
RB: Coleman/Mostert/McKinnon/Wilson
FB: Juice
TE: Kittle/Sullivan*/Dwelley

WR: Samuel/Patton* (PUP: Hurd)
WR: Ruggs*/Pettis
WR: Bourne/James (PUP: Taylor)

LT: Staley/Skule
LG: Tomlinson
C: Richburg/Garland (PS: Hanson*)
RG: Hunt*
RT: McGlinchey/Brunskill

DE: Bosa/Blair
DT: Thomas/Agim*/Street
DT: Armstead/Jones/Harrison*
DE: Ford/Anae*

LB: Alexander/Greenlaw/Al-Shaair
LB: Warner/Walker*

CB: Sherman/Witherspoon
CB: Moseley/Hall*/Harris
NB: Williams/Reed
FS: Ward/Moore
SS: Tartt/Harris

ST: Gould/Wishnowsky/Nelson

I'm not sure Hunt is a great fit for our scheme but if he's the pick that would indicate our coaching staff disagrees. Outside of that concern I would love that draft!

Love Ruggs obviously but love those round 3 picks.

The thing about that TB trade is, if they know we're not gonna take the Tackle they want, why would they need to switch places with us? Why wouldn't they just wait for us to take Ruggs and then take their tackle at 14 lol. They're basically giving us a third for Goodwin, which, needless to say, is a stretch

TB's concern wouldn't be us taking him, but rather a team like Miami who has pick 18 trading up with us to get him. A bit like how Chicago traded up for Trubisky when they knew we weren't taking him.

Fair concern, and I think this is on the basis that conditioning will drop some weight. But his comparison is Cody Ford, who's a plus sized athlete but can play zone.

Cleveland, Simpson, and the LSU and Temple centers are alternatives.

Thank you!
Agree with genus about Hunt about a scheme for, but he is a good OL. Nice overall mock on both sides of the ball.
