Mock, Shadow, and Hindsight Draft

I will be updating this as the draft process plays out.

Mock draft is pretty straight forward; this is my ideal draft haul on the day of the draft.

Shadow draft will be updated as we go. I will be picking a player based on who is still on the board at the time of our pick. This means that, if in the real draft we make a trade, my shadow draft will reflect those trades as well.

Hindsight draft will follow the same rules on the shadow draft, only I will be making the selections once the draft is over. This gives me the benefit of hindsight at each selection. For instance, I may value Ruggs over Kinlaw, and so I take my BPA during the shadow draft. However, I see that Ruggs is still available at 31 in the real world, and I would instead take Kinlaw at 13 and Ruggs at 31 in my hindsight draft. The same is true for filling positional holes. In real time,I might think I can get CB later but hindsight shows I should have taken one early, etc.

Mock Draft
*Trade* R1P13 for R1P22, R2P58, R3P89
R1P22: Cesar Ruiz, IOL (available, +2)
*Trade* R1P31, 2021 5th and Matt Breida for R2P44, R3P75, R5P160
R2P44: Jaylon Johnson, CB (available, +6)
R2P58: Jeremy Chinn, S/LB (available, +6)
R3P75: Bryan Edwards, WR (available, +6)
R3P89: McTelvin Agim, DT3T (available, +6)
R5P156: Saahdiq Charles, OT (unavailable, -48; would gladly trade for Trent Williams here)
R5P160: Darnell Mooney, WR (available, +13)
R5P176: Dalton Keene, TE (unavailable, -75)
R6P210: Jonathan Garvin, EDGE (available, +32)
R7P217: Kirk Merritt, WR
R7P245: Reid Harrison-Ducros, NCB

Shadow Draft
R1P14: Javon Kinlaw, DT
R1P25: Brandon Aiyuk, WR (boo, trade!)
R5P153: Bryce Hall, CB
R6P190: Jonathan Garvin, EDGE
R7P217: Rodrigo Blankenship, PK

Hindsight Draft

I like it. Heavy on the offense with WR, IOL and TE. Two good CB's for next year and pass rushers for the d line. Well done!

I like the idea and most of the picks, except I would like to pick a dt earlier. Most of our dt are coming off of injury and we need to make sure that we have a good rotation there.

Board went about as expected thus far. Ideally we trade to 15, Denver gets their WR, TB takes Kinlaw or Wirfs, and we take whoever they don't and an extra 3rd. If they stick with 13, Kinlaw is my pick, though it's splitting hairs

Oooo, a smaller trade than expected lol but a great move. I'm assuming Kinlaw and Ruggs have been the targets all along. If staying at 14 I'm assuming Wirfs is gone and Kinlaw becomes the ez pick
Still want a trade down from 31 now as well, but we'll see whos on the board.
Not looking good for my next target, Jaylon Johnson, making it to me
With ruiz gone it's trade down or Jaylon Johnson as the two easy options at 32

Would not have traded here. Very little draft capital the rest of the way. Because I'm not expecting to get any additional draft capital I think I HAVE to go WR here despite how badly I want Jaylon Johnson and a WR later.
Remaining top targets for me:

Alex Highsmith, EDGE
Jonathan Garvin, EDGE
Michael Ojemudia, CB
Kirk Merritt, WR
Dalton Keene, TE
Saahdiq Charles, OT/OG
Bryce Hall, CB

Must not use 2021 1st as ammo!

Remaining top targets going into day 3

Bryce Hall, CB
Saahdiq Charles, OT
Jonathan Garvin, EDGE
Kirk Merritt, WR
Reid Harrison-Ducros, NCB
Amik Robertson, CB
Trevis Gipson, EDGE
Benito Jones, DT1T

Wow, I wanted to use our 5th to get Saahdiq Charles, but skins get him and use that 5th for Trent instead. Winning.
