LADIES AND GERMS !!!
We actually in a very interesting spot here... if we want a QB, we are going to need to give up a lot and move up... below is my DRAFT prediction w/o any trade while the Jets sticks w/Darnold.
1) JAGS - Trevor Lawrence; QB - Clemson
2) NY Jets - Penei Sewell; OT - Clemson
3) MIA (HOU) - JaMarr Chase; WR - LSU
4) ATLANTA - Justin Fields; QB - Ohio State
5) CINCY - Patrick Surtain; CB - Alabama
6) PHILLY - Zach Wilson; QB - BYU
7) DETROIT - Trey Lance; QB - N. Dakota
8) CAROLINA - Micah Parsons; LB - Penn State
9) DENVER - Caleb Farley; CB - Va Tech
10) DALLAS - Kwity Paye; DE - Michigan
11) NY Giants - Davonta Smith; WR - Alabama
12) SF 49ers - ????

I had a draft where Carolina picks Farley at 8 and then trades up to get Lance at 9. Weird.

If that happened
No way is that enough to give up to move to #3 overall IMO.

I made lots of trades but only accepted offers from teams like the Lions, Texans, Bengals and otherwho must likely will be high picks in 2022. I always have Creed Humphrey and other OL available in the 60s - 70s but the good CBs are gone

This was really fun . I let this run 45 times on its own at normal speed. Here was the breakdown:
DeVonta Smith, WR Alabama (once via trade up) - IIIII
Patrick Surtain II, CB Alabama - IIIII
Wyatt Davis, OG Ohio State - IIIII
Kyle Pitts, TE Florida - IIII
Justin Fields, QB Ohio State (all 4 times via trade up) - IIII
Azeez Ojulari, EDGE Georgia (once via trad down) - IIII
Rashawn Slater, OT Northwestern (once via trade down) - III
Christian Darrisaw, OT Virginia Tech (twice via trade down) - II
Zach Wilson, QB BYU (once via trade up) - II
Kwity Paye, EDGE Michigan - II
Jayson Oweh, EDGE Penn State - II
Caleb Farley, CB Virginia Tech (via trade up) - I
Jaycee Horn,CB South Carolina (via trade down) - I
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB Notre Dame - I
Liam Eichenberg, OT Notre Dame - I
Travis Etienne, RB Clemson (via trade down) - I
Jay Tufele, DT USC (via trade down) - I
Trevon Moehrig, S TCU (via trade down) - I
This simulator really see's us being quite active with trading up and down (more down than up). I know we're gonna loose a lot of guys in free agency, but to be honest I see us re-signing many of those key guys back. When healthy this is a SB team. Verrett, T. Williams, Juice, K. Williams, and Jorden Reed (and to a lessor degree D.J. Jones) are, in my mind, probably the teams top priorities to get re-signed (though I'm having serious doubts we'll be able to afford T. Williams). Key rotational guys like Blair, Hyder, Garland, and hopefully Thomas and Bourne, will give hometown discounts.
This simulator really likes us taking Wyatt Davis and DeVonta Smith. I just can't see us taking an OG with our top pick, and I doubt that Smith will be there at 12. But honestly at I can definitely see us taking Patrick Surtain II. In fact if we don't trade up to get a QB, and if Smith is gone and Surtain is there at 12, I cannot imagine us NOT taking him. But I really doubt that we'll be that active trading up or down.
I've been on this simulator as well:
https://thedraftnetwork.com/mock-draft-machine
The results were similar, but heavy on CB and QB.
